Key Responsibilities

  1. Technical Leadership & Vision

  2. Team Management & Development

    • Foster a culture of transparency and shared ownership, where every team member feels supported and valued.
  3. Delivery & Execution
    • Oversee end-to-end delivery of features and enhancements for threat assessment, incident response, and detection customization.
    • Utilize agile methodologies (or similar) to optimize team workflows and accelerate time-to-market for customers.
    • Ensure timely pull request (PR) reviews, clear task definitions, and consistent communication of progress and blockers.
  4. Customer-Centric Innovation
    • Advocate for a customer-first mindset, making data-driven decisions that address real-world SaaS security needs.
    • Partner with Product Management to gather feedback, validate assumptions, and refine detection and response capabilities based on market and customer insights.
  5. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment
    • Collaborate with peer teams (Security Research, Product, Data Science) to share insights, remove roadblocks, and align on overarching business goals.
    • Promote open communication and break down silos for a seamless, integrated approach to product delivery.
  6. Process & Quality Excellence
    • Establish and refine engineering processes to improve code quality, reliability, and performance—particularly for scalable, high-throughput data pipelines.
    • Advocate for continuous improvement, early issue detection, and rigorous testing, monitoring, and observability.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of overall Software Engineering experience, including 5+ years as a hands-on engineer
  • 3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager or in a technical leadership role, guiding teams that deliver production-grade SaaS solutions
  • Expertise with Python and Go, particularly in building high-volume data pipelines or threat detection systems
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects with high-performance and high-availability requirements, ideally in security or data-focused environments
  • Demonstrated ability to fail fast, learn faster, iterating quickly in agile or agile-esque settings
  • Strong communication skills—verbal and written—suitable for a remote-first or distributed workforce
  • Familiarity with SaaS security, security operations, or detection engineering is a plus (though not mandatory)

What Success Looks Like

  • Your team consistently delivers high-impact features on time while meeting or exceeding quality benchmarks
  • You cultivate an environment where engineers feel supported, engaged, and empowered to innovate
  • You proactively identify and resolve issues early, adjusting course when needed to maintain project momentum
