This will be a remote role to start, with plans to transition to hybrid in-office 2x/week located in downtown Toronto.

What You’ll Work On
You will be the Senior Engineering Manager of the Restaurant Foundations platform team. The team’s charter is to create a platform for our Front End client teams. The team maintains and develops the tooling, components and libraries that support our restaurant web infrastructure. As the manager you will work with a team of smart engineers, defining the future of the web platform. The teams’ mission is to build and support our broader team of web engineers in a variety of ways. These include maintaining the design system, and component infrastructure, defining standards and improving developer experience.
Requirements
- You have at least 5 years of engineering management experience with direct reports.
- You lead with transparency and empathy, with a people-first mindset. You set clear expectations, and are not afraid to respectfully communicate when those expectations are not met.
- Your communication is clear and concise. You can represent technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- You reliably deliver on commitments you’ve made.
- You know how to organize and plan projects; create and update roadmaps; and set realistic deadlines that have the buy-in of the people that will need to meet those deadlines.
- You hold engineers to a high technical bar, and expect them to be able to speak to tradeoffs to justify their decisions.
- You help the team stay organized, and create processes that allow it to run efficiently.
- You have a strong technical background and are proficient in JavaScript and the React framework and have experience building full stack web applications with Node.js.

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. The range for this remote Canada based role is $175000-$205,000 CAD.
In addition to a competitive base salary, roles are eligible for additional compensation and benefits including: annual cash bonus, equity grant; health benefits; flexible spending account; retirement benefits; life insurance; paid time off (including PTO, paid sick leave, medical leave, bereavement leave, floating holidays and paid holidays); and parental leave and benefits.
