The Opportunity:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented front-end engineer to be the first dedicated react engineer for our Ensemble component library, focused on helping set and executing the gold standard for front-end engineering across teams, and being a primary engineer liaison with the ux/ui teamThis role will have dedicated time on our front-end shared assets (Component Library/Design System, Monitoring, and potentially CI/CD for the UI), as well as acting as a ‘drop-ship’ frontend engineer to help move forward critical work efforts. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsibilities include: Design, develop, test, deploy, monitor, maintain, and continuously improve software 
  • Helping set and executing the gold standard for front-end engineering excellence across teams 
  • Actively mentor the software engineering team through code reviews, and hands on design sessions 
  • Primary maintainer for our design system in storybook enabling all other frontend engineers with tested, and accessible React components 
  • Excels in a dynamic and self-directed work environment 
  • Acting as the primary engineer liaison with UX and UI across modern and legacy user interfaces (React and .NET MVC) 
  • Playing a critical role in modernizing from .NET MVC to React (In progress) 
  • Support teams using our current apps using React Router, Material UI, & Vite 
  • Provide consulting input for front-end architecture

Other Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 5+ years of coding experience with React, CSS including creating beautiful and performant experiences 

  • Experience working closely with UX/UI teams 

  • Experienced building, maintaining and evangelizing design systems and component libraries using storybook 

  • Skilled in understanding rest and GraphQL interfaces and how to consume them 

  • Experienced in automating frontend tests using tools such as jest and playwright 

  • Experienced analyzing frontend performance and quality using tools such as WebPageTest, Google Lighthouse, Azure Monitor or Datadog 

  • Highly preferred to have experience executing automated visual regression testing 

  • Understanding formal architecture, design patterns and best practices 

  • This position pays between $100,600 - 192,900 based on experience
