Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Product Engineer (PE) is responsible for leading and coordinating cross-functional development team to develop new automotive lighting products. The PE act as the primary customer contact for technical aspects of the product. Works together with Program Manager through complete project lifecycle (from RFQ, planning, testing, launch support to start of serial production). This includes negotiating technical requirements with customers, manufacturing and suppliers. This role is key to the successful delivery of the product.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Development of automotive lighting products.
- Negotiating technical requirements with the customer or suppliers and conducting meetings with them.
- Implementation of appropriate mechanical, electronics and optical concept to ensure full functionality of final product, including manufacturing feasibility approval.
- Close cooperation with the Electronics Systems Engineer.
- Ensure creation and maintenance of documentation according to Magna PDP system (BOM, drawing documentation, Lessons learned, etc.).
- Is responsible for keeping deadlines in the implementation of project tasks and timely escalation of potential problems.
- Cooperation with the Project Manager on project and ensuring implementation Magna PDP tasks according to project timing.
- Supporting creation of test plan during the development of product.
- Support of product testing (DV, PV), including implementation of corrective actions.
- Implementation of change management.
- Assessing and identifying development capacities for RFQ and nominated projects.
- Maintain Open Issue list.
- Works completely independently. Does not require guidance or supervision from a more senior colleague/supervisor.
- Communicates with the customer completely independently and autonomously.
- Acts responsibly with due care for the property entrusted to him/her.
