About the Role
As part of an agile team, you will research and build the software on telematics devices with state-of-the-art technologies and features like communication, networking, and positioning. You will be on growth path to enable and create new business in the Telematics domain. Will be part of highly visible demos; and lead effort to bring the product and solutions to market. Your responsibilities include design, development/coding, build, debug, and modify software enhancements and new products development.
What You Will Do
- Technical lead for the Automotive Applications domain
- Preferred - Some prior experience with at least one of the following domain/apps - OTA/Software Update, Location/Positioning based Applications, Data Collection / Real-time-monitoring apps, Connectivity Apps (wifi, BT, Eth, NFC et al).
- Expertise with Analysis & design activities for business requirements.
- Expertise with building Use-Cases, stories, high-level design, low-level design work products like Sequence Diagrams, Block-diag, State diagrams, Class diagrams
- Design, Develop and Test scalable, maintainable, well mannered (CPU, memory, disk, power, network) automotive grade embedded Linux applications for Telematics Applications domain
- Create reusable and scalable C, C++ code. A successful candidate would be very hands-on with C/C++ coding.
- Estimates, High-level design elements and create schedules and plans with milestones and identify dependencies
- Technically mentor and lead a team of engineers with core capability (but not limited to) around the Telematics applications (experience with at least one of the above mentioned domains)
- Work closely with the product and program management teams when developing and delivering new product launches
- Contribute new ideas and be proactive to work with multiple teams for resolving technical issues
What You Need
- Masters/Bachelors degree in electrical, communications, computer engineering or a similar discipline
- Should have 4 -to- 6 years of overall experience.
- Working experience with Linux on an embedded platform, including build environments
- Hands on experience with Debugging using GDB and ability to analyze back traces
- Strong understanding of embedded platform concepts (at least a few) e.g boot procedure, location-based applications, Calling & Data (LTE) applications, or similar applications in wi-fi, BT, NFC etc.
- Knowledge of Open Embedded, Bitbake and package management is a strong plus
- Resourcefulness in understanding integration problems
- Create reusable and scalable C, C++ code.
- Proficient understanding of STL (Standard Template Library): containers and algorithms.
- Good understanding of Linux IPC (Inter Process Communication) mechanisms like sockets, message ques, shared memory.
- Working experience in multithreading environment and thread synchronization techniques.
- Working experience with industry standard version control systems like GIT, Gerrit et al.
- Working experience with Gtest based C++ unit test framework.
- Good written and oral communication skills to collaborate with teams across geographies
What is Nice to Have
- Prior knowledge of software development for Automotive Products is a plus •
- Ability to read and understand Hardware schematics analysis related to connectivity circuits
- Experience working with Agile entities (Epics/Stories/Tasks) for planning and execution
