Your Opportunity as the Senior Engineer, Controls – Engineering & Technical Services Organization (TSO)
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer, Controls to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading projects and providing daily C&IS support to our Orrville based Process Research Labs (PRL). The position will also provide broader controls support as part of the Engineering & Technical Services Organization.
Location: Corporate Headquarters in Orrville, OH
Work Arrangements: 100% on-site
Reports to: Senior Manager, Automation & Controls
In this role you will focus in the areas of:
Process Research Lab Support
- Lead and manage electrical and controls aspects of PRL projects working closely with research leadership and process teams
- Deliver critical support to help drive projects from inception to completion
- Provide troubleshooting support to resolve control system issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success and timely issue resolution
- Help train process engineers and technicians on simpler controls tasks.
Creating Standards and Best Practices
- Develop and share standards and best practices for electrical, control systems, and instrumentation
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies
- Improve the communication of standards and best practices by working closely with controls and project staff at our manufacturing sites
Specifying Equipment
- Identify and specify power and control system equipment and components
- Work with vendors and suppliers to source high-quality, cost-effective solutions while maintaining standards
- Ensure specified equipment meets project requirements and performance standards
Build Out and Own SharePoint C&IS Resource Site
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive C&IS SharePoint site
- Ensure the site is user-friendly, up-to-date, well-organized, and accessible to relevant stakeholders
- Provide training and support to users as needed
Develop Tools to Manage E&I Obsolescence Risks
- Create and implement tools to help sites manage Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) obsolescence risks
- Monitor and evaluate the lifecycle of critical components and systems
- Develop strategies to mitigate risks associated with obsolete equipment

What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s of Engineering degree
-
2+ years of control systems engineering experience

Strong knowledge of machine and/or process control hardware, instrumentation and software including Allen Bradley PLC and Rockwell FactoryTalk platforms

On-site troubleshooting experience
Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

An Electrical, Controls, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering degree

Process Research Lab (PRL) projects and obsolescence management experience

Troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment

Familiarity with electrical and controls industry standards and best practices
