Job Description:
Parsons is hiring Training Advisor to be based in the city and country of Tbilisi, Georgia.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- The GBP Training Advisor will advise the GBP in the development of their Training Program and curriculum with emphasis on basic instruction, retraining, and training for promotion.
- The advisor will also assist the GBP in the determination of the requirements for their Training Center infrastructure.
- This hire would will work directly with the GBP and will spend the bulk of their work schedule at GBP Headquarters in Tbilisi.
- The selected candidate should reside in Georgia for at least the first year of the POP and preferably until the GBP’s Training Program is developed and implemented.
- Develops, organizes, and conducts online and/or instructor led training for employees and managers on various topics. Creates all training materials needed, including PowerPoint presentation materials, handouts, manuals, online modules, etc.
- Facilitates training sessions which include multiple presenters.
- Conducts training and development evaluations to ensure effectiveness by assessing employee performance and reviewing evaluations/feedback. Makes recommendations to Training Manager regarding feedback received.
- Provides and analyzes training reports as needed
- Completes special projects as required in support of customer activities.
- Takes the lead in ensuring new Training and Development personnel are effectively and efficiently trained in all operations. Monitors training to ensure quality programs and conformance with department, federal and state requirements. Keeps abreast of practices, current/pending legislation, and trends within the area of specialization. Routes materials of value to other staff members.
- Prepares drafts of policies and procedures for area of assigned specialty.
- Works closely with subject matter experts on the design and development of instructional content, as well as graphics and multimedia elements for delivery of differentiated online instructional content.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of learning theory and delivery, technology and best practices in online course development, social networking, mobile learning, and other trends in learning systems
- Advises and assists faculty in best use of educational media and technology tools to enhance instruction and create new learning environments. Conducts needs assessment, analyze data and make recommendations.
- Conducts negotiations and establishes relationships with system vendors to ensure service is adequately provided and specific business practices are met.
- Manages and coordinates activities to meet strategic management objectives.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in an education, law enforcement, or security related field.
- If no bachelor’s degree or a bachelor’s in an unrelated field, the advisor shall have 12 years of WMD, border security, or law enforcement (or similar) training experience.
- 8 years of relevant and recent (within 5 years) WMD, border security, or law enforcement (or similar) training experience to include both training program and curriculum development.
- Relevant and demonstrable experience in an international environment.
- Ability to apply a variety of Management principles, customer policies, and practices to assigned area of responsibility and possess a working knowledge of related Federal and state regulations.
- Effective interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to handle a wide variety of sensitive situations.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and in writing) with all levels of employees and managers on issues pertaining to assigned area of responsibility.
- Ability to clearly articulate the application of relevant laws and regulations, as well as principles and customer policies related to area of responsibility, and provide appropriate guidance to managers.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential assignments and work in a fast-paced, highly-visible environment.
- Mastery of software (both standard programs and those specially designed) required for related work assignments.
