About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join Remitly based in our Seattle headquarters. Reporting to the VP of People Partners, you will play a key part in fostering a high-performance culture by supporting internal investigations, assisting managers with performance management, and maintaining a consistent, high-performance standard across the organization. Additionally, you will serve as a trusted advisor to the Vice President of Human Resources, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of employment laws and policies, and the ability to navigate sensitive employee issues with professionalism and discretion. This role is hybrid flexible, requiring 2-3 days a week in our Seattle, WA HQ.

You Will:

  • Conduct thorough, impartial, and timely investigations into employee relations issues, including policy violations, workplace conflicts, and complaints.
  • Collaborate with managers to provide guidance and support on performance management processes, including performance improvement plans, coaching, and constructive feedback.
  • Ensure that all employee relations matters are handled in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Partner with leadership to promote a high-performance culture by reinforcing accountability, fostering open communication, and aligning team goals with organizational objectives.
  • Analyze employee relations trends and provide recommendations for proactive interventions to enhance workplace morale and productivity.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CPO and Senior HR leadership, offering insights and recommendations on sensitive HR matters, internal team dynamics, and organizational policies.
  • Provide guidance and support to the HR team, acting as a trusted resource to address internal HR-related challenges and promote team cohesion.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for managers on effective performance management, conflict resolution, and maintaining the organization's performance standards.
  • Collaborate with People teams to support broader organizational initiatives, such as diversity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives; employee engagement programs; policy updates; and compliance training.

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in employee relations, human resources, or a similar role, with experience supporting senior HR leaders preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices in the United States and Canada.
  • Strong investigative skills, with the ability to handle sensitive issues objectively and discreetly.
  • Familiarity with conflict resolution techniques and mediation practices.
  • Proven experience in performance management and coaching.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility at all levels of the organization.

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $116,000-$135,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
