About the role
Responsible for providing architecture and technical leadership to a business unit. Works closely with IT leadership team and business stakeholders to design and develop strategic IT roadmaps. Provides technical oversight in managing third party vendors to adhere to previously developed and approved architectural solutions. Drives innovation, develop/reviews domain level architectures. Responsible for IT innovation and promotion of new technologies. Ensures enterprise architectural standards and best practices are followed.
Key Accountabilities:

Designs business unit solutions by applying enterprise standards, frameworks and reference architectures. Plays key role in evaluation and selection of technology for solving specific business needs within the business unit domain.

Communicates complex topics regarding solution that will meet business stakeholders project needs.

Establishes and maintains best practices, reference architectures for business/domain by collaboration with key stakeholders (EA, CIO, Business) to align with the strategy and target of IT and the business roadmaps.

Creates and validates business unit specific domain architectures by collaborating with key stakeholders, peers and/ or development teams, aligned to reference architectures and roadmaps.

Provides input to the strategic direction of technology investments to assist in the development of the enterprise architecture and maximize the return on technology investment.

Develops and maintains the focus area (domain) architecture and design for specific business functional/technical area.

Manages deviation and exceptions of business unit specific domain architectures that vary from the reference architectures/principles.

Provides oversight to junior architects working on projects/initiatives.

Manages technology complexities and conflicts relevant to the business unit specific domain architecture.

Develops business unit centric architecture patterns aligned with Enterprise reference architecture.

Performs as an idea generator, working with others as a thought leader and subject- matter expert to help brainstorm new processes and solutions.

Uses technology knowledge to anticipate and understand the implications of the latest technologies to communicate and evangelize them to audiences and to integrate these technologies appropriately into products and programs.

Develops and maintains technology roadmaps in alignment with business strategies and guides the execution.

Acts as a subject matter expert in specific business unit technology discipline, tracks advancement of emerging solutions, and champions adaption of relevant ones for that business unit by working with business and IT stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree with typically more than 12 years of related experience. Normally holds an advanced degree in area of specialization.
The compensation range for this role is (based on the corporate location in Lake Forest, Illinois):
$131,991.00 - $245,127.00 per year
The final salary offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for commission.
