What will you do?
As a Senior Disaster Recovery Engineer you will perform implementation, regular problem solving, maintenance and support for a agile software development and you will also be:

• Designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing disaster recovery solutions for target system using agile methods.

• Acquiring requirements; resolving workflow problems through automation optimization.

• Utilizing automated testing tools to perform the testing and maintenance.

This position works directly with Slovakia based engineering leadership and Cat Digital IT in the US.
What you have:

• Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
• Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
• Hands-on experience with Cloud Services, Cloud Architecture & Cloud Solutioning (primarily AWS, associate certification preferred)

• Working knowledge of Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and related best practices

• Understanding of micro-services, integration & failure points, and robust testing practices

• Experience working in Agile environment. Soft skills & ability to effectively communicate across technical & non-technical teams

• Experience with AWS DevOps, FinOps, or other functional role that bridges Development, Operations and cost-effective Disaster Recovery

Key Skills

• Proficiency with AWS, with a focus on AWS Backup, IAM, CloudFormation, RDS, DynamoDB and S3

• Python or Java proficiency

• SQL proficiency

• Ability to automate routine or standard tasks

• Ability to understand complex architecture, multi-account & cross-region systems, and upstream/downstream dependencies

• Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira/Confluence, ServiceNow or similar tooling
