The Senior Director of Major Gifts is responsible for interacting with multidisciplinary teams to manage market fundraising strategies. In this role, you will develop lasting relationships with both your fellow Cleveland Clinic professionals and external donors and prospects. You will also have numerous opportunities to further develop your skills through Cleveland Clinic’s extensive library of resources. A caregiver in this position works from 8:00AM – 5:00PM, with a Hybrid schedule at Weston Hospital.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Set vision and implementation strategies for the generation of philanthropic funds for Cleveland Clinic priorities.
- Promote collaboration between staff.
- Provide leadership for the effective and efficient operation of assigned responsibilities.
- Achieve significant dollar goals and lead the success of campaigns for capital, programmatic, research, endowment and operating support for Cleveland Clinic.
- Lead overall management of the area and supervises assigned employees.
- Establish a program of personal visits with past, current and prospective donors, as appropriate.
- Ensure donors are properly advised as to the financial options available, projects and needs and develop funding proposals.
- Act as leader accountable for complete transfer of funds, property, etc. to Cleveland Clinic.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills and the ability to manage a diverse central service team
- Ability to establish and maintain friendly and cooperative relations with individuals contacted during work
- Ten years of progressively responsible experience in Fund Raising, Direct Solicitation and Capital Campaign Environment, including management
- Demonstrated success and experience in fund raising strategies for donor cultivation and direct solicitation
