The Senior Director - International Tax plays a pivotal role in leading the international tax function, developing strategies to optimize the company's tax position from an international perspective and ensuring global tax compliance. This role encompasses overseeing international tax reporting and compliance, managing tax risks, and supporting with planning opportunities as well as controversy disputes.
Additionally, the Senior Director provides international tax technical advice across all tax areas and supports tax planning and controversy initiatives. By collaborating closely with key stakeholders, the role ensures accurate and comprehensive reporting, while also maintaining external relationships, representing the company's tax interests, and mentoring a team of tax professionals. This position is crucial for integrating tax considerations into business operations and supporting the company's strategic objectives globally.
What we are looking for
- Economics/Finance/Law/Accounting degree, with further accredited accounting and/or tax qualification (e.g. CPA, Tax Expert)
- Fluent in English
- Minimum of 12+ years of direct and indirect tax technical experience in Big 4 and/or corporate department of a large publicly held multinational company
- Strong commercial mindset and extensive experience with tax planning for public US-based multinational corporations.
- Strong technical knowledge of corporate and international taxation, including the ability to analyse tax issues
- Strong understanding of accounting methods, stock compensation, FDII, GILTI and other US and state tax positions impacting US-based multinational public companies.
How you will thrive and make an impact
- Lead and grow the non-US technical tax team, providing technical tax expertise and guidance globally
- Manage all non-US audits
- Drive commercial go to market tax strategy to achieve efficiencies
- Champion tax planning and commercial strategies
- Support non-US M&A activities
- Monitor proposed and enacted legislative changes and modelling their impact on both the effective tax rate as well as cash tax expenditures
- The Sr. Director of International Tax will be responsible for the planning, structuring, and compliance across multiple international tax jurisdictions
- Assist with cross-border structuring and planning including analyses and modelling for tax impacts, ramifications, and optimization
- Ensure timely compliance for international requirements
- Partner closely with business teams across the global organization to implement tax efficient business structures in the US and abroad. This includes, for example, alignment with supply chain planning initiatives, legal entity structuring and simplification, permanent establishment considerations, and global financing alternatives, including potential repatriation of CFC earnings
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal partners and peers (including FP&A, controllership, treasury, and legal) and external consultants and statutory auditors.
