About the role
Provides pragmatic, business-minded support to Trustmark’s shared services and business units, in a multifaceted position that encompasses contract review, drafting, and negotiation, as well as providing essential legal support, research, and analysis. Works on cutting-edge legal issues, including contracts and technology. Advises on diverse legal issues, and a commitment to supporting our business objectives while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Adapts and takes on new responsibilities as necessary to meet the evolving needs of Trustmark and the legal department.
Key Accountabilities

Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including technology licensing, SaaS agreements, vendor contracts, and NDAs.

Support shared services and business units by identifying and mitigating legal risks in commercial transactions.

Assist with litigation and outside counsel management.

Support the negotiation and resolution of business disputes.

Work with colleagues to analyze and assist with discovery and general document management.

Research on topics related to artificial intelligence and cyber security as it relates to insurance companies.

Review insurance laws and regulations and advise business on strategic plans.
Minimum Requirements

Law Degree from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law or ability to become licensed in Illinois

3-5 years of experience as a practicing attorney

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to apply legal principles to practical business situations

Ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence stakeholders at various levels of the organization

The compensation range for this role is (based on the corporate location in Lake Forest, Illinois):
$104,922 - $156,666 per year
The final salary offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for bonus.
