At AoPS, we are world leaders in teaching advanced mathematics. We train many of the most elite mathematicians in the world, including all members of the US International Math Olympiad team. Despite this impact, AoPS remains relatively unknown to the broader public.

AoPS is unique because it is vertically integrated: it develops its own curriculum, runs its own physical learning centers, employs teachers, and has a robust and capable product, design, and engineering team. Today, our curriculum and academic programs are absolutely world-class, but our digital experiences are dated. Your job will be to reimagine the customer journey from hearing about AoPS to becoming a satisfied customer. You will oversee all customer-facing digital experiences, including the marketing, enrollment, ecommerce, and parent experiences.

We are hiring for two Senior Director of Product roles. One will be in charge of Learner Experience, the other in charge of Customer Experience. They will work closely with each other and the Chief Product Officer in standing up a new Product Management department of the company and recruiting and managing a team of great product managers.

The Senior Director of Product - Customer Experience will be:

  • Helping lead a major brand refresh project to build an iconic, nationally renowned educational brand
  • Building a new website that shows the best of what AoPS has to offer – its community of motivated learners, its high-quality curriculum and excellent teachers
  • Crafting, measuring, and iterating a new enrollment and commerce flow that explains and sells our digital and in-person course offerings
  • Building a new parent-facing portal to give customers a clear view of their student’s progress
  • Fostering a "demo culture" where design ideas are quickly prototyped and tested with real students and teachers
  • Managing a team of product managers working on different components of the customer journey
  • Creating a culture of storytelling, a deep understanding of customer journeys, and attention to the details of a quality user experience
  • Collaborating with engineering, design, curriculum development, course delivery, customer service and marketing teams to ensure cohesive and high-quality execution

Perks and Benefits:

This is a full-time position based at our headquarters in San Diego, CA. The base salary for this role is 180k - 210k. Compensation includes a performance-based bonus.
