The Senior. Director, Managed Services will play a key operational leadership role in the Dealer Marketing & Consumer Analytics team. They oversee the VinSolutions, Xtime and Dealer.com Managed Services organizations. This leader is responsible for executing on the strategic direction set by Consumer Solutions & Dealer Solutions Leadership and the Vice President of Operations of Dealer Marketing, utilizing in-depth industry and subject matter knowledge, analysis, and business expertise. He/she will operationalize and create actionable objectives to deliver on the strategic vision that will transform the day-to-day managed service business, using technology, artificial intelligence and outsourcing and other tools, leading to a unified client experience that aligns with our companywide initiatives.
Success in this position includes achievement of long-term operational objectives, improved services levels and partnership with Products and Engineering to help drive technological innovations in order to maximize client outcomes.
Managed Services encompasses multiple operational areas, serving 8,000+ customers, generating approximately 100MM in revenue per year with margins exceeding 40%. Leadership of the Managed Services operations spans 4 levels of management, including Directors, Sr. Managers, Managers and Supervisors, and involves leading the operations and 400+ team members supporting the following product families : Invite, Target Pro Plus, and Dealer.com Managed Services with team members located in multiple locations.
This leader will establish and be responsible for business plans that align to the strategic direction set forth by VP+ leadership and benchmark achievement related to: client retention, utilization, and other business metrics reporting and analytics, while monitoring and measuring team's performance to drive continuous improvement and efficiency. This will entail gathering feedback/input from team, identifying potential gaps/negative trends and bridging those gaps by driving improvement across behavior and people knowledge/development.
Develop and oversee plans for long-term workforce across disciplines in 1:1 Marketing, SEO, Content & Creative, Social, Reputation Management, and Compliance with staffing of client relationship managers, marketing strategists, copywriters, designers, compliance coordinators, campaign coordinators, campaign specialists, SEO specialists, marketing specialists, operation specialists, social coordinators, and reputation management specialists to ensure availability of talent necessary to meet business benchmarks.
This leader will also influence and directly partner with other senior leaders across Retail Solutions disciplines to influence product roadmap & technology enhancements, to provide input for the OEM offerings in all related programs to ensure maximum value to customers and KPIs to business, to align client strategies and interactions across VinSolutions, Xtime, and DDC, to oversee and align managed services pricing and packaging, and to oversee and develop Go To Market strategies.
Responsible for developing a group of thought leaders who can contribute to the creation of an operational plan that will service as the foundation for a menu of rich content through a series of speaker engagements, webinars, white papers and videos.
This candidate will be a proven operational and industry leader that exhibits confident leadership, clear communication, a commitment to generating positive results and the ability to influence and hold others accountable across an organization.
Responsibilities
Operational Execution

  • Create & execute departmental operational plans to efficiently meet client expectations
  • Lead the development of business solutions that deepen customer relationships, deliver the brand value proposition, and drive client results.
  • Develop the process, discipline and implementation of an annual operational business plan.
  • Responsible for pricing management, campaign implementation, input into marketing and managed service product development, operational efficiencies and scale, sales and client support across both direct and indirect sales streams.

Client Focus (internal and external):

  • Build relationships and business awareness across Cox Automotive to be able to align and coordinate cross-functional teams on delivery of goals and client expectations.
  • Ensure that internal and external requests are acted upon by the appropriate team in a timely manner to ensure optimum service and meet established service level agreements; and that teams have the appropriate resources and tools to fulfill requirements and expectations in the most efficient and logical manner
  • Provide input and feedback on business and marketing strategies, brand positioning, and customer segments across the enterprise


Analytics and Process improvement:

  • Evaluate and maintain productivity measures for departments to ensure that all employees for each of the respective departments under the Sr. Director are performing to their full capacity and in accordance with performance targets.
  • Monitor and/or manage, as necessary, the implementation of any productivity improvement including capturing measurable improvements.
  • Develop recommendations for solving organizational challenges related to change and participate in ongoing development of and improvements to change management processes, which will lead to overcoming team and individual resistance to change.


Leadership:

  • Recruit, onboard, grow and/or coach the managed services management team
  • Demonstrate the capability to manage managers to cohesively while executing & achieving defined departmental goals.
  • Drive performance management solutions and workforce development process throughout organization.
  • Attract, retain and develop talent.
  • Implement appropriate team member development structure to drive behaviors and develop necessary skills.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 12 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 10 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 7 years' experience in a related field; or 16 years' experience in a related field
  • 8+ years of team leadership, management, and people development experience; the leader must be both creative and analytical, often responsible for providing solutions to unique problems
  • 12+ years of work experience in businesses which are based on technology, software, digital marketing/media, and/or internet for the automotive or related industry
  • 4+ years of exposure to P&L financial management with working knowledge of budgeting concepts
  • 4+years of experience leading market enablement, business readiness, sales operations, business operations or a related function
  • 6+ years leading teams in a matrixed environment across organizational boundaries; exposure to agile development; track record of forming collaborative partnerships across multiple functional teams such as marketing, sales, operations, and product
  • Knowledge of automotive retailing ecosystem between dealers, dealer groups and the consumer highly preferred
  • Must have the capacity to transform the business in response to ever-changing macro-economic, industry, and technological climates.
  • Experience identifying and utilizing advanced automation technologies in a service provider setting highly preferred


USD 159,400.00 - 265,600.00
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $159,400.00 - $265,600.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Benefits:
The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
