How you will make an impact

The Senior Director, Financial Planning & Analysis leads Halozyme’s Commercial and Corporate Functions FP&A team including end-to-end FP&A support for all Selling, General and Administrative functions and oversight of company-wide planning and reporting consolidation efforts. This role is a critical business partner responsible for providing financial insights and strategic guidance to executive leadership as well as supporting strategic and financial transactions.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead and scale Commercial FP&A function including:

    • Drive monthly reporting, quarterly forecast, and annual budget and long-range planning efforts for proprietary product revenue, gross-to-net discounts, and functional expenses and investments

    • Build and maintain partnerships with Chief Commercial Officer and Commercial Leadership Team to drive market expansion and profitability initiatives

    • Develop reporting KPIs and financial metrics for all commercial brands

    • Work closely with Managed Markets and Cost Accounting functions to support Gross-to-Net forecasting and optimization

  • Steward total company financial consolidation efforts including:

    • Lead and develop Corporate Functions FP&A team

    • Develop Executive and Board reporting packages

    • Cultivate detailed knowledge of financial forecasts to provide input into the organization’s broader strategic risk-taking decisions

    • Administration of Financial Planning and Reporting Software (Adaptive Insights) including General Ledger and HRIS data feeds, planning version control, chart of account maintenance, and planning system efficiency initiatives

  • Support strategic and financial transactions with respect to capital allocation plan

  • Develop complex financial models and analytical tools to help make responsible financial and business decisions

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field; MBA, CFA, or CPA designation preferred

  • At least 15 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role (an equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered)

  • Minimum eight years’ FP&A experience in similar role leading an FP&A team and two years’ experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry

  • Previous experience supporting M&A transactions and integration activities at a public company

  • High proficiency in Excel (including the ability to perform pivot tables, VLOOKUP and high-level functions, formulas, and modeling techniques) and PowerPoint

  • Solid proficiencies and adaptability using finance system capabilities

  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)

  • Detailed understanding and experience forecasting all financial document (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows)

  • Domain knowledge of Gross-to-Net accounting

  • Adaptive Insights and Great Plains experience a plus.

The most likely base pay range for this position is $203K - $284K per year. Several factors, such as experience, tenure, skills, and particular business needs, will determine an individual’s exact level of compensation. Base salary is only one element of employee compensation at Halozyme. Total compensation could include bonuses, sales incentives, and equity awards.
