We are seeking a Head of Content Strategy to lead and evolve our end-to-end content strategy across our product experience and broader customer ecosystem. This pivotal role will directly oversee our Technical Writing and UX Writing teams, ensuring our product documentation and in-product content are clear, consistent, and user-centered.

Reporting to our VP of Product Design you, as the steward of our content vision, will drive alignment on voice and tone across the product, innovate how documentation is created, consumed, and discovered, and elevate the impact of content across the customer journey. You'll partner closely with Support, Training, Product Marketing, and more to define a unified content strategy that scales with our growth and deepens customer engagement.

This is a hybrid role based in our Raleigh office. Our hybrid model means you’ll work from the office at least two days each week. This setup helps us stay connected, work more closely together, and keep making progress as a team.

The Head of Content Strategy at Collibra is responsible for

  • Leading, growing, and mentoring the Technical Writing and UX Writing teams.
  • Building a high-performing content team culture grounded in excellence, collaboration, and user empathy.
  • Defining and executing the vision for a unified, scalable content strategy across product documentation and in-product experiences.
  • Developing and governing consistent voice and tone guidelines across all customer-facing content.
  • Driving innovation in content delivery, including contextual help, interactive docs, embedded guidance, and multimedia formats.
  • Partnering with Product Management, Design, and Engineering to ensure content enhances product usability and feature adoption.
  • Collaborating with Support, Training, and Product Marketing to align content strategies across documentation, knowledge base, enablement, and marketing materials.
  • Advocating for content as a core component of the end-to-end user journey.
  • Championing strategies for improving documentation findability, search relevance, and content personalization.
  • Utilizing analytics and user feedback to continuously optimize content effectiveness and engagement.
  • Establishing content governance models to manage quality, consistency, and lifecycle across teams.
  • Defining and tracking success metrics for content strategy and team impact.
  • Applying strategic thinking to complex content ecosystems: Connecting long-term vision with tactical execution across diverse content types, channels, and user needs.
  • Guiding cross-functional alignment through clear, consistent communication: Building shared understanding and drive collaboration across teams such as Product, Design, Support, and Marketing.

You have

  • 10+ years of experience in content strategy, technical writing, UX writing, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience managing both technical documentation and UX writing functions, ideally within a SaaS or enterprise software environment; strong understanding of the data governance or data management space is a plus.
  • Proven success in developing scalable, user-focused content strategies across cross-functional teams.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Journalism, Writing, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent related working experience is required
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

You are

  • Excellent leader, communicator, and possess excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Experienced with enterprise grade software; Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth, and ambiguous environment.
  • Familiar with leading and scaling multidisciplinary content teams and able to draw from experience managing technical writers, UX writers, or related roles to foster growth, performance, and innovation.
  • Able to analyze customer journeys to improve content effectiveness: using both qualitative and quantitative insights to identify gaps, optimize discoverability, and increase content relevance.
  • Readily absorbing and integrating new information about evolving product capabilities and user needs: Staying current on platform changes, user behaviors, and industry trends to adapt strategy accordingly.

Measures of success

By the first month you will have

  • Built relationships with direct reports and key cross-functional partners across Product, Design, and Support.
  • Audited current documentation and in-product content to identify strengths, gaps, and quick wins.

By the third month you will have

  • Delivered a content strategy roadmap with clear priorities across documentation and in-product copy.
