We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior Director of Accounting to join our team who will report into the CFO. This role will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and compliance of all financial reporting and internal controls. The Senior Director of Accounting will be a key advisor to executive leadership, overseeing a team of professionals and supporting strategic financial initiatives to drive the company’s continued growth. Your Role - Responsibilities
- Oversee technical accounting and corporate accounting functions
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing accounting team
- Lead and manage all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, tax and treasury
- Manage external financial reviews and audits; and interface with auditors and tax advisors
- Produce accurate, supportable, and timely financial reports in accordance with US GAAP
- Drive automation and process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability of the accounting function
- Partner with Financial Planning & Analysis to ensure accurate forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis
Your Role - Technical Accounting & Global Accounting Policies
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting
- Ensure material and significant transactions are evaluated based on US GAAP for the appropriate accounting treatments, prepare white papers to support and implement appropriate accounting policies to support treatment
- Responsible for setting the materiality policy and performing analysis to support materiality thresholds and proposed changes
Your Role - Corporate Accounting:
- Oversee monthly and quarterly close processes ensuring business adherence to due dates and compliance with US GAAP and company policies
- Responsible for execution and design of internal controls, especially financial statement controls
- Implementation and maintenance of accounting/financial software and systems to support the enterprise
- Responsible for Tax and Treasury matters
- Assist in due diligence and business development activities and help prepare materials for strategic transactions
Your Role - People Development
- Attract and retain talent by developing core competencies within each team member
- Define and communicate roles and responsibilities, and be a mentor to teammates
- Expand teams’ experiences by providing opportunities for cross-functional projects and other initiatives
- Manage performance based on company’s operating principles
- Ensure the work environment is based on respect and high integrity, while also having fun and reinforcing the company’s values
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field
- Certified Public Accountant
- 10+ years of progressive experience with accounting leadership; 5+ years in a Big 4 accounting firm with increasing responsibilities
- Experience in a company with at least $100M in annual revenues; private equity backed or high growth company experience a plus
- Ability to demonstrate technical knowledge and understanding of U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and controls
- Strong attention to detail and dedication to accurate and high-quality work
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to problem-solve and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with merger and acquisitions preferred
Compensation:
- Annual Compensation: $225,000 - $275,000 per year.

What to Expect in the Hiring Process
1. Values in Action Self-Assessment - At Brighton Jones we don’t just talk about our values, we live by them! We’ve operationalized our values into observable behaviors and part of the application process includes completing a brief self-assessment on our Values in Action.
2. Initial Interview - This 30-min chat with a recruiter or hiring manager gives us a chance to learn about your background and goals and share more about the role and company.
3. Role Alignment - Next you’ll meet with the hiring manager and a peer (virtual or in-person) to dive deeper into the role, responsibilities, and your transferrable experiences.
4. Full Loop - You’ll meet the team in two, back-to-back interviews with team members you’re likely to work with. During these conversations, we’ll be listening to examples of your technical skills as well as how core values show up in your experience. There may also be a writing sample, role play, hiring, or technical assessment depending on the position.
5. Personal Reference Calls - In this final step in the hiring process, you will be asked to arrange 1-2 personal reference calls with past managers of our choosing.
