This role is part of our ScraperAPI team, one of our growing brands at saas.group.
ScraperAPI is an enterprise scale web scraping tool that handles proxies, browsers, and CAPTCHAs, so you can get the HTML from any web page with a simple API call. ScraperAPI is part of Saas.group LLC which was founded in 2017 with a simple goal in mind: to help small companies reach their full potential. We looked at what made private equity firms and other common routes so maddening, and worked backward, simplifying every step.
Profile Overview
We are seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to join our small and focused engineering team to build the next generation of web scraping tools together. We’re building a world where data collection is a breeze and where publicly available data is at anyone’s doorstep - should you be a marketplace looking for competitor information or an SEO agency collecting search engine data for your customers. The role offers challenges that will keep your brain busy, a chance to work on a large scale product that customers can rely on, a modern tech stack and a great team where people learn from each other.
Your responsibilities
- Infrastructure Building and Optimization: Enhance the scalability and fault tolerance of our large-scale infrastructure that gets 1 billion+ requests a week, by implementing monitoring and alerting solutions.
- Migration Project: Lead the transition of services from DigitalOcean to Hetzner, ensuring minimal disruption, while keeping everything secure.
- Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and implement robust disaster recovery and redundancy strategies.
- Security Enhancement: Strengthen security measures to protect against continuous threats and attacks.
- Cost Management: Identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities without compromising performance or security.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development teams, with potential involvement in AI projects.
What You bring to the table
- Cloud Infrastructure: Proven experience with cloud platforms; familiarity with DigitalOcean and Hetzner is advantageous.
- Containerization and Orchestration: Proficiency in Kubernetes for managing large-scale deployments.
- Programming Languages: Strong skills in JavaScript/TypeScript; knowledge of Python and Ruby is a plus.
- Databases: Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and Redis.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Expertise in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.
- Operating Systems: Solid understanding of Linux systems.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Experience in setting up and maintaining continuous integration and deployment workflows.
- Security Practices: Ability to implement and manage security best practices in cloud environments.
What’s in it for You
- Ultimate flexibility: We’re 100% remote. You can work from wherever you like, whenever you like.
- Freedom and autonomy: We’re a high-trust team, and you’ll be given lots of flexibility to solve problems in your own way — with plenty of help from the team when you need it.
- Minimum bureaucracy: We don’t like to get bogged down with meetings and red tape. We like to be efficient and keep momentum steady & sustainable.
- Small & friendly team: We help each other out, have fun, and joke around.
- Our network: We are a community of entrepreneurial SaaS professionals that regularly exchange ideas, knowledge, learning and expertise with each other internally.
- Flexible time off: We want you to recharge your batteries when needed.
