We're looking for a Senior Design Manager to join the new Customer Support and Sales Tooling Design Team.
This team has a dual mission: to enhance the user experience for customer support tools and platforms, elevating Atlassian's customer support experiences to drive seamless self-service led by AI. Additionally you will lead the design strategy and execution of internal tooling that provides comprehensive insights into customer and sales data, enabling informed decision-making and strategic planning. This role is ideal for a design leader with a strong background in data visualization and a passion for enhancing customer support experiences through innovative design solutions including AI. Part of your remit will be to centralize efforts, improve capacity, and drive Design uplift in partnership with Atlassian Corporate Engineering and our DesignOps team.

In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with some of the industry's smartest (and nicest) people. You'll work with fellow Designers, Engineers, Product Managers, Content Designers, Researchers, Marketers, and Analysts to develop an elegant user experience in our products and ship high-quality work
- Partner with leadership, stakeholders, cross-functional teams to create improvements to AI-driven features and core AI capabilities
- Work with teams who will leverage the patterns and concepts in their products to ship AI-powered features
- Lead multiple initiatives with your team from creation to execution and be responsible tying back to customer value delivery and business outcomes
- Communicate design concepts and plans persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
- Ensure design solutions deliver customer value through qualitative research and quantitative data
- Identify opportunities to enhance our products and accelerate AI experiences at Atlassian
- Drive innovation in data visualization and user experience, leveraging the Atlassian Design System to create intuitive and impactful dashboards.
- Enhance design processes and efficiency, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the team
Your background:
- At least seven years experience in Design Leadership roles as a direct manager
- Experience in planning and driving direction autonomously - both as a hands-on designer, and as a manager
- Maintain an area of core strength in one or more Design disciplines where you can lead through your expertise
- Experience on design infrastructure teams and working across a suite of products
- Track-record in working effectively with scaled systems and different methods for designing
- Comfort in the level and speed of learning and ambiguity needed to navigate fast-evolving fields like AI
- Positive collaboration history with other departments like Engineering, Product Management and Research
- Examples of a high degree of influence with all kinds of internal partners, including Exec leadership
