HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Varsity Brands is currently looking for a Sr. Demand Planner that will leverage available and widely accepted forecasting tools, techniques, and processes to lead all demand planning activities, including ensuring the forecast is unbiased and unconstrained and that it represents the collective knowledge of customers, sales, and demand groups.
The Sr. Demand Planner collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, facilitating cross-functional alignment of a consensus demand plan. They will be accountable for meeting demand KPIs and drives a continuous improvement culture.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Support the monthly demand planning process by building or selecting effective forecast models based upon trends, demand patterns of relevant (uncorrected or adjusted) historical data.
- Propose demand forecast modeling solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy and reduce bias.
- Conduct monthly forecast modeling maintenance to support an ongoing 24-month demand plan.
- Address demand related issues that can affect forecast models in a timely and effective manner.
- Manage the assembly and delivery of forecast model reporting and parameter improvement suggestions.
- Collaborate with Sales and Product to incorporate product life cycle and sales event information into the demand forecasts.
- Incorporate and communicate off-cycle adjustments, as needed
- Support monthly demand review meeting to gain consensus on forecasts
- Reporting, as requested.
- Include and review, based upon Monthly S&OP calendar, materials that are relevant to the and S&OP process.
- Represent demand planning within the S&OP process.
QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES
- Strong understanding of statistical knowledge around time series models and building such models.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills around specific demand planning topics and modeling.
- Ability to be a quick learner on new and existing tool sets to be used for demand forecasting and planning.
- Good understanding of best practice processes around S&OP, demand planning and statistical modeling.
- Manage conflict and seek the best solution for the business in mind.
- Self-motivated and strong ability to apply analytical problem-solving skills. Must have a passion for solving forecasting and analytical projection problems, as well as implementing them.
- Be able to present your findings professionally to colleagues, supervisor, and executives.
- Work with minimal supervision and execute for optimal results in a fast-paced environment
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations Management, Economics, or other relevant degree within a quantitative area and business exposure in demand forecasting/planning.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a demand forecasting role.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with Advanced Planning Systems.
- Demonstrated experience participating in the S&OP cadence and meetings.
- IBF or APICS certification is a plus.
- Experience working with Anaplan Demand Planning is a plus.
- Six Sigma certification, Green or Yellow Belt is a plus.
- Personal Effectiveness/Credibility.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This job operates in a professional office environment. Largely a sedentary role with some filing requiring the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. The ability to sit or stand for long periods through meetings and while operating office equipment, PC’s, laptop, telephone will be required.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; drive, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
During events, the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time (5 hours plus) is required. The ability to communicate with customers and colleagues using the following but not limited to radio, walkie talkie, text message and email is required. The ability to lift, bend, push, pull and manipulate equipment that is a minimum of 30 lbs. is required.
