Job Description:
The Senior Data/Functional Analyst works collaboratively with clients and stakeholders - both external and internal to the company - to research and elicit, analyse, validate and document business requirements, and to ensure that those requirements clearly reflect true business needs, correctly representing all stakeholders. Translates business needs into system/ application requirements and project components to help determine solutions to business problems. Assists team members in producing functional requirements for tool development. Proactively identifies and manages changes to requirements and identify risks for the company’s clients. Effectively manages client’s expectations. Applies industry and information technology expertise to support proposals, feasibility studies, implementations and new business development.
The Senior Data/Functional Analyst researches, designs, develops, configures, integrates, tests and maintains existing and new business applications and/or information systems solutions including databases through integration of technical and business requirements. Applications and infrastructure solutions include both 3rd party software and internally developed applications and infrastructure. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analysis of business requirements, coding of modifications or new program, creation of documentation, testing and maintenance of applications, infrastructure, and information systems including database management systems. Works within the Information Technology function, obtaining resources and working in support of objectives and strategies. Provides required documentation and participates in architecture reviews to ensure that the solutions comply with standards and use approved technologies. Typical customers are company end users and various functional areas such as Supply Chain, Research and Development, Marketing, Finance, a business, or the company.
Responsibilities:
- Through self-directed activities act as a liaison between clients and technical groups, using superior communication skills to elicit, document, analyse and validate requirements.
- Apply industry-leading expertise to recommend and coordinate the development, enhancement, and maintenance of a client's business systems, processes, and products using high-maturity methods, processes, and tools.
- Creating detailed biz requirement documents with as-is, to-be, mockup screens, functional flows, right acceptance criteria and usecases.
- Combine industry expertise with an advanced understanding of information technology to develop innovative business solutions.
- Influence the strategic direction of clients and their industry.
- Lead analysis teams on large projects.
- Lead requirements management and change management processes.
- Strong business acumen to understand the implications of data findings
- Requirements elicitation via interviewing and workshop facilitation; requirements.
- Determination using structured techniques for documentation, analysis, evaluation/ validation.
- Decomposition of high-level information into details; abstracting low-level information; distinguishing requests vs needs; distinguishing requirements vs. solutions.
- Specialized: Function Point counting; survey design and execution; statistical analysis; developing structured user manuals and training; visualization modeling; business rules modeling; develop and executing acceptance test plans.
- Perform data analysis using statistical methods, machine learning techniques, and data visualization tools
- Identify patterns, trends, and anomalies within datasets to uncover insights
- Ability to quickly understand which data is used by which business processes and what the data means in the context of these specific processes
- Experience using and designing business visualization, and user experience elements of solution design, using intelligence tools such as Qlik, PowerBI
- Collaborate with other internal and external Analytics & Engineering teams to drive continuous improvements in metrics quality and processes

Education and Experience Required:
- Typically, a technical Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 10 years of related experience or a Master's degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience.
- Recommended: IIBA CBAP™ (or equivalent) certification obtained.
- Ideally, recognized industry- certification.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Advanced understanding of modern software development methodologies.

- Good verbal and written communication skills; influencing skills and ability to work effectively in a geographically dispersed team. Demonstrated leadership skills.
