At Uni Systems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a Senior Database Administrator to join our UniQue team.
What will you be doing in this role?
- Administer instances of on cloud (Azure & AWS) and on premises Databases.
- Optimize database maintenance plan & fix high availability database server issues.
- Perform database maintenance/task streamlining.
- Investigate backup/restore issues.
- Optimize database replication and disaster recovery.
- Second tier incident management.
- Investigation of root cause of incidents and proposal of short-term and long-term solutions.
- Perform on demand database backup and restore.
- Monitor SQL server cluster performance and anticipate issues.
- Patch/Update of database servers/infrastructure.
- Assist in automation of on demand database backups.
- Respond to requests for database creation, user privilege assignment.
What will you be bringing to the team?
- Hold at least a High School Diploma
- Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Proficiency in managing relational database systems, specifically MS SQL, MySQL/Maria DB).
- Strong understanding of Azure and AWS cloud services related to databases.
- Experience with database security, backup/recovery strategies, and disaster recovery planning.
- Understanding of data modeling, normalization, and schema design principles.
- Ability to investigate and resolve issues related to backups, restores, and replication.
- Familiarity with database server patching processes and infrastructure updates.
