About the Team
Workday has launched an Enterprise Data and Analytics (ED&A) Team to Transform and optimize the way Workday creates and shares trusted data to drive actionable insights and data led innovation across the enterprise. To enable this strategy, the ED&A team has worked with the business to identify critical business areas in which data and analytics can make a material difference in the execution of Workday’s strategic goals. Each of these goals is being organized as a data product with a dedicated multi-functional team to drive a diverse set of data management, governance, and data analytics to realize relevant, measurable business change. As part of ED&A and enabling this strategy, the Enterprise Data Governance team drives the creation of policies, procedures, and operating models that will improve the overall quality and reliability of data across Workday in support of operational and analytical strategic business outcomes.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly qualified and strategic Senior MDM Data Steward to join our Enterprise Data Governance team. This senior role demands deep domain expertise in Data Stewardship and Master Data Management (MDM), particularly with customer, product, and contact data domains. The ideal candidate will possess extensive, hands-on experience architecting, implementing, and governing end-to-end reference data solutions and sophisticated hierarchical structures within MDM systems. Proficiency and significant experience with Reltio or comparable enterprise MDM platforms are critical. In this strategic role, you will be a key leader in defining and upholding the integrity, governance, and integration strategy for critical enterprise data assets! You will drive high-quality data management practices that are fundamental to business operations, strategic decision-making, and data-driven innovation across Workday.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead and Drive Strategy: Drive the end-to-end strategy and execution for data stewardship (including customer, product, contact), ensuring outstanding data quality, consistency, and seamless integration across the enterprise ecosystem.
Champion Data Stewardship: Serve as the primary steward and domain expert for customer data, ensuring its accuracy, completeness, and compliance with organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Architect and Govern Hierarchies: Design, implement, govern, and evolve sophisticated hierarchical structures within MDM systems like Reltio, ensuring they meet current and future business needs.
Develop and Implement Policy: Develop, refine, and champion reference data policies, standards, and procedures to maintain data integrity, consistency, and compliance, influencing broader data governance frameworks.
Drive Alignment Across Functions: Lead collaboration with partners across Data, IT, Product, Sales, Marketing, and Operations to drive sophisticated data initiatives, ensure strategic alignment, and improving data quality.
Strategize Data Integration: Architect and guide the seamless integration of customer data across diverse systems and platforms, partnering with technical teams to design and implement robust, scalable data solutions.
Partner on Data Quality: Partner with business, IT, and Data teams to define trusted data sources, implement data quality rules within analytical environments, and drive initiatives to improve data quality at its source.
Lead and Influence: Actively lead and contribute to enterprise-wide data initiatives, advocating for industry leading data management practices and influencing data strategy at a higher level.
Solve Complex Data Challenges: Analyze highly complex, ambiguous data issues, using expert problem-solving skills to devise innovative, effective, and strategic solutions.
Mentor and Innovate: Mentor junior team members (formally or informally) and stay ahead of emerging trends, technologies, and industry leading practices in MDM, RDM, and data governance, introducing relevant innovations to Workday.
About You
Basic Qualifications:

7+ years of MDM experience with end-to-end management of customer data

7+ years of data stewardship experience and managing hierarchies within MDM systems.

Experience with Reltio (or similar MDM platforms) is required.

Strong data governance and data quality management background.

Workday Pay Transparency Statement
The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $144,300 USD - $216,500 USD
Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $137,100 USD - $243,600 USD
