The Team :

As a member of the data science team, the first and foremost driver is contributing to Ankorstore success metrics.

We need you to improve and scale our data-driven features as part of the core product value proposition for our Brands and Retailers.

By joining the data science and machine learning team of 3 people, you will be in charge of developing models, leveraging AI and genAI current and future capabilities, to make Ankorstore a successful company.

Main responsibilities :

This role is designed for a driven data scientist who is not only technically proficient but also adept at fostering collaboration across teams to integrate data-driven solutions that support and amplify our business objectives.

• Design and/or improve our search, ranking, recommendations, and browsing algorithms, improve personalization; develop core data science enablers that will be leveraged down the line into business use cases.

• Put them in production, measure their performance, and iterate.

• With the help of our ML Ops and data Engineering team: design, build and scale real-time and batch processing pipelines to compute features, perform inference, and make decisions.

• Contribute in the Data Science roadmap and delivery

• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and the Data Science Manager to align data science projects with organizational goals and product roadmaps.

Tech Stack: GCP, Python, Kubernetes, Kafka, Clickhouse, Aiven, openAPI, ...

Some of the enablement that have been delivered since 2023:

• Search experience improvement with better accuracy on search terms detection and matching against search results

• Reranked products in search and catalog browsing experiences

• Recommended carousels throughout the digital marketplace (homepage, cart, product detail pages, …)

• Prediction of product metadata in order to offer a top notch Brands’ experience, relying on commodity and seamlessly integration, … 

Requirements :

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent field.

• 3+ years of industry experience on machine-learning teams.

• Experience building and deploying various machine learning models.

• Experience in one or more of the following areas: NLP, ranking, LLM, search engine, recommender system, and ML

• Experience with modern back-end machine learning tech stacks.

• An excitement and willingness to learn new tools and techniques.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with others in a closely collaborative team environment.

• Designing software for low latency and high throughput environments.

• Experience in training, launching, and iterating on machine-learning models

• Extensive experience with relational databases, SQL and python.

• Strong fundamental programming skills:

  • Object-oriented design

  • Functional programming

  • Systems Design

• Solid understanding of engineering and infrastructure best practices, general software development principles with a machine learning software development life-cycle orientation.
