About the Role
Ontra is seeking a Senior Data Scientist reporting to our Senior Manager, Data Science.

What You’ll Do
- Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively managing stakeholder relationships through active research, listening to understand the problems that products and business units aim to solve
- Data-Driven Problem Solving: Leverage technical skills to identify areas where data can solve business problems, such as assessing new product opportunities and collaborating with the Machine Learning team to develop MVPs.
- Collaboration and Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding throughout all data science initiatives.
- Co-Development and Ideation: Work collaboratively with the broader Data team to ideate and co-develop innovative solutions, driving efficiency and scalability in our products.
- Emerging Product Development: Engage in the development and enhancement of emerging products, applying machine learning and data science expertise effectively.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in data science, particularly supporting product managers and being embedded within cross-functional teams.
- Technical Proficiency: Mastery of SQL and Python, with vast experience in data wrangling and working with loosely structured data. Strong interest and expertise in AI and NLP are crucial.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience with scaling companies is advantageous. Familiarity with professional services (finance, law, compliance) and B2B SaaS is a plus.
- Impact and Innovation: Demonstrated track record of delivering tangible impact through data analytics and modeling. A high ownership mentality with an entrepreneurial mindset, driven to ideate and seize opportunities.
- Communication and Collaboration: Effective communicator who thrives as an empathetic and collaborative teammate. Committed to continuous learning and displays agility in adapting to evolving challenges.
Pay Transparency
Ontra takes individual candidate location, experience, and skills into consideration when determining compensation. The base pay range is listed below. Additionally, all positions are eligible for unit-based equity grants.
Some positions may be eligible for additional compensation, such as commission or other variable compensation structures, which is not included in the below base pay range.
