THE OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring a Senior Data Scientist to our Partner Content (CODE) team in Brazil

CODE is an acronym for Consumer Digital Experience, which means we're in charge of the experience and services that will guide people in their wellbeing journey. Our main goal in CODE is to make every company a wellness company. From knowing about Wellhub, and getting access to exclusive benefits, to using our vast partner's network, it is in the end-user experience. CODE teams are responsible for developing and maintaining Wellhub's App, frontend, and backend services, and Design System and work closely with product, UX, and data teams to create an excellent experience for the users of our platform.

As a Data Scientist in the Partner Content team, you will play a crucial role in applying  AI models that can generate content leverage existing data (reviews, check-ins, partner usage, time/consistency patterns) and gather additional data to understand user behavior and preferences to provide insights to product development. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, PMs, and Tech Leads to create innovative AI applications that solve real-world problems.

YOUR IMPACT

  • GenAI: Identifying opportunities to use GenAI to address business challenges, enhance existing processes, or create innovative solutions. 
  • Data insights: provide data insights and support product decisions leveraging existing data or gather additional data to understand user behavior. 
  • Model Fine-tuning: Fine-tune pre-trained models to adapt to specific use cases and requirements, including performing large language models (LLMs) fine-tuning and optimization for enhanced model performance. Additionally, collaborate with data scientists to annotate and preprocess data for model training, ensuring the models are tailored effectively to the intended applications.
  • Prompt Engineering: Develop and refine prompts to enhance the performance and output quality of generative models, ensuring that the models respond accurately and relevantly to various input scenarios.
  • Data Preparation: Collect, preprocess, and analyze large datasets to ensure high-quality input data for training generative models.
  • Embeddings: Develop and utilize embeddings to represent complex data types (e.g., text, images) in a way that facilitates the generation of meaningful and accurate outputs.
  • Research and Innovation: Stay current with the latest research in generative AI, propose new approaches, and contribute to the academic and technical community through publications and presentations.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate generative models into products and services, ensuring they meet business objectives and user needs.
  • Evaluation and Testing: Develop and implement rigorous testing and evaluation frameworks to assess model performance, robustness, and reliability. Collaborate with the Data team in order to improve our internal ML Ops platform.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of models, algorithms, experiments, and processes to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related field;
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar;
  • Knowledge of generative models, including GANs, VAEs, autoregressive models, and transformers;
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on experimental design and data analysis;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (both in English and Portuguese), with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

The following are preferred qualifications:

  • Proficient in model fine-tuning and hyperparameter optimization;
  • Proven track record of developing and deploying generative AI models in production;
  • Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP) and/or computer vision applications;
  • Familiarity with vector databases for handling high-dimensional data.
