Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our IT team.  Reporting to the CTO, this individual will design, build, and manage scalable data pipelines and infrastructure. In this role, you will work to ensure that data is properly collected, stored, and made accessible for analysis. You will be responsible for building robust data systems, improving data quality, and optimizing performance.  We want someone who’s experienced and comfortable with managing multiple projects in a fast-paced high-growth environment.  You should be someone who is passionate about designing best in class data solutions and who strives for high standards of quality when building data engineering workflows and their supporting infrastructure.

Responsibilities: 

  • Conceptualize, design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines that efficiently process, transform, and load large datasets from diverse sources into data warehouses or other storage systems
  • Create and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) workflows to ensure high-quality data is available for analysis and reporting
  • Integrate data from various sources to create a unified data environment.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance by implementing best practices and monitoring systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues and solve technical challenges with the development and infrastructure teams
  • Continuously optimize queries, workflows, and data processing pipelines to improve speed, scalability, and cost-efficiency
  • Document data systems, pipelines, and processes to maintain clarity for team members and future development
  • Promote best practices for data engineering within the team.
  • Implement and maintain data products using advanced techniques and tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, sales, marketing, and customer success to deliver valuable data solutions
  • Document data structures for internal business users and work collaboratively with other departments to help them analyze data
  • Together with stakeholders, develop and maintain a data roadmap which prioritizes key data initiatives for the business
  • Continuously evaluate and integrate new data technologies and tools to enhance our data infrastructure and capabilities

Requirements and Skills: 

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience working in data engineering, cloud data warehouses, and ETL development, preferably in a customer-facing environment
  • Proven expertise in designing and optimizing data pipelines and architectures
  • Strong proficiency in advanced SQL and data modeling techniques
  • Strong experience with ETL tools and data integration technologiesExperience with cloud data services, preferably Microsoft Azure
  • Solid understanding of database systems (e.g., relational, NoSQL)
  • Knowledge of data modeling and schema design
  • A track record of leading impactful data projects from conception to deployment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex data issues
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for clean, high-quality data
  • Passion for building scalable data solutions that enhance customer experiences and drive business growth
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Familiarity with data governance principles and ensuring compliance with industry regulations
