We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join our Cyber Security Team. This is an amazing opportunity to work with industry leading security tools and technologies. Our focus is on many aspects of security, including Security Operations, Vulnerability Management, Secure Development, Threat Modeling, Identity and Access Management, and much more, and we would love to speak with you if you have skills in Secure Baseline Design and Configuration Management.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field 
  • 7 Years of experience in a cybersecurity role designing, implementing, and supporting information security solutions in enterprise and cloud environments 

It would be great if you also have . . .

  • Masters degree in computer science or cybersecurity
  • CISSP, SANS GIAC, or other industry certifications
  • Understanding of configuration compliance benchmarks and baselines (CIS, NIST, etc.)
  • Experience securing serverless and container-based technologies
  • Strong knowledge of security principles and technologies in application, infrastructure, network, cloud and endpoint security
  • Scripting and development of security tools

What you will be doing in this role:

  • Define requirements, based on the overall information security strategy, and implement capabilities to comply with established standards to help mitigate security risks.
  • Build, implement, and operationalize cybersecurity tools and processes that contribute to improving Clarivate’s security posture.
  • Analyze IT projects and roadmaps and identify security dependencies and risks, and design solutions to remediate information security risks.
  • Provide cybersecurity support to Clarivate business segments and technology teams.
  • Understand current and emerging security threats and design security capabilities to mitigate threats where possible.
  • Provide security advisory services support by recommending improvements in information security systems, procedures and processes based on industry best practices and innovative thinking. 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for security incidents, threat hunting, and escalations from the SOC.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve security incidents in a timely manner.
  • Train and support junior members of the security team.
  • Participate in internal Blue and Red Team activities.

 Hours of Work 

  • Although duties are typically performed during normal business hours, off-hours work/on-call shifts may be required to meet customer and/or business needs.
  • This is a hybrid position, where you will be required to come in to our Kansas City area location 2/3 days a week

We are a team of security professionals from various walks of life with diverse experience. The team consists of 25 security professionals that report to the Chief Information Security Officer. We are spread out across the world with team members located in North America, Europe, and Asia. The manager for this role is located in North America. As a security team, our focus lies in four main areas (pillars) – Security Engineering and Operations, Product security, Security Architecture, and Governance Risk and Compliance.
