As a Senior Country Chief Accountant based in San José, Costa Rica, you will work at Roche Services and Solutions, a Shared Services Center providing Finance and Procurement services to countries in the Americas region.
The Opportunity
The Senior Country Chief Accountant will ensure high-standard management of day-to-day accounts and accounting processes, collaborating closely with RSS Americas Finance teams, affiliate's Finance Manager, and local finance team to ensure accuracy of data, smooth operations, and safeguarding of company assets.
Responsibilities:
Period End Close

Coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities with RSS Americas Finance teams to ensure timely and accurate closure of accounts

Analyze and communicate consolidated review of profit and loss accounts and balance sheet, ensuring financial accuracy of affiliate's financial statements
Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable/ Treasury

Manage multiple aspects of Accounts Receivables, including reviewing and approving manual billings and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of sales activities

Oversee multiple aspects of Accounts Payables, including reviewing and approving AP related activities such as vendor invoices, payments, and tax reports

Additionally, responsible for treasury matters including FX deals, credit facilities, payment requests, and banking matters.
Others

Act as the main contact person for affiliates' Finance Managers, providing advisory and support for all financial matters. Also, actively participate in the FM/Controller’s Local Leadership Team.

Serve as the main contact person for issue resolution with RSS Americas Finance teams, handling all financial matters. Additionally, coordinate with Group Finance Key Stakeholders for effective collaboration.
Who you are

Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting/Business or equivalent with a minimum of 14 years of relevant Finance and Accounting/Audit experience

US CPA qualification is a preferred and highly desirable for USA support positions, if not, it must be a country CPA equivalent (where there is a public exam/ registry); ideally with exposure to U.S. Business and IFRS.

Certified Public Accountant with practical experience in financial statements preparation and technical topics. Certification must be active. (i.e. Continuous professional education or CPE must as required by the country CPA board)

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate, build relationships, and influence stakeholders in a diverse and matrixed environment. Demonstrates exceptional leadership qualities and commitment to attracting, retaining, and developing high-performing teams.
