Job Summary:
The Senior Counsel (Middle East) will provide legal support from InterSystems’ Dubai office for the Middle East region.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work out of Dubai, UAE office
- Primarily responsible for all legal issues effecting InterSystems in the region, including:
- Software licenses, solution agreements and other customer contracts
- Non-disclosure agreements
- Teaming agreements and associated prime contracts and subcontracts
- Consulting agreements with independent contractors and statements of work thereunder
- Vendor compliance with InterSystems’ policies
- Employment matters, as applciable
- Real estate matters
- Corporate maintenance in local jurisdictions
- Regulatory compliance
- Manage large, government procurements of healthcare technology and then assist the project managers in managing the lifecycles of these complex agreements, including contract changes and amendments
- Work with and manage outside counsel
- Ensure compliance with internal processes regarding pricing, approval, and other requirements
- Assist in ensuring compliance with external requirements, statutes and standards related to healthcare information technology, data protection, and other areas
- Assist in completing, filing, and sourcing ancillary documents for transactions, such as insurance certificates, tax certifications, and corporate registrations
- Perform special projects as requested
Job Qualifications:
- Qualified legal practitioner with a current practicing certificate, authorized to work in Dubai
- At least 8 years of relevant legal experience required, including work in the Middle East
- Experience with large government procurements, preferably in health care
- Software or other high tech experience required, healthcare experience a plus
- Proven ability to effectively manage outside counsel

- Ability to vary communication style to effectively communicate locally and with non-native English speakers
- Ability to triage multiple demands and shifting priorities
- Ability to work remotely and independently from the head office and legal department in the dynamic, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment of a privately-held company
- Inform stakeholders about work progress and outcomes
- Ability to develop creative and non-traditional solutions
- Understand how legal issues impact the "big picture"
- Multiple language competencies are a plus, including Arabic
Travel within the region will be required and, occasionally, outside the region. Must be allowed to live and work in Dubai.
