Bellevue-based roles have an in office schedule of Monday-Wednesday in office.


Role Overview: Aircall is seeking a highly skilled attorney with 5-8 years of experience to support our North American operations. As a key member of the legal team, you will play an essential role in advising and supporting various commercial transactions—including sales, partnerships, and vendor agreements—in North America. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology transactions and commercial contract negotiations, with a solid understanding of data privacy frameworks. This position reports to the Chief Legal Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting and Negotiation: Serve as lead counsel in preparing, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of agreements, including Master Services Agreements, software licensing, channel partnerships, reseller agreements, technology development contracts, SaaS agreements, and other commercial contracts.
  • Legal Counseling: Act as the primary legal advisor to the North American sales, partnerships, and marketing teams, as well as other departments including IT and product development.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks in contract arrangements and propose strategies to mitigate them, safeguarding the company's interests.
  • Regulatory Monitoring: Stay informed about evolving laws and regulations related to commercial transactions, technology, and U.S. data privacy to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Training and Education: Conduct training sessions for employees on legal best practices related to commercial matters and technology transactions.
  • Process Improvement: Drive the ongoing enhancement of contract templates and other contracting processes, emphasizing efficiency and scalability.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5-8 years of relevant legal experience in technology transactions and commercial contract negotiations, gained both in law firms and in-house (preferably at a startup or other rapid-growth business).
  • Data Privacy Expertise: Strong knowledge of domestic privacy laws and experience with international privacy frameworks.
  • Business Acumen: Ability to identify legal issues, properly assess risk, and provide concise, business-focused legal advice.
  • Sense of Urgency: Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex legal concepts clearly.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Organization: Highly organized and process-driven, with the ability to work independently with minimal guidance, while understanding when legal matters require escalation.
  • Licensure: Active membership in good standing with at least one state bar (preferably Washington State).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in foreign languages is a plus, especially Spanish and/or German.
  • Experience working with product and engineering teams.
