Job Description

What’s it all about?
The Senior Manager Corporate Communications, Turkey, is an important member of the European regional communications team, partnering with business units and colleagues locally to drive Visa’s reputation externally and enhance employee pride and engagement.

Reporting into the Director of Corporate Communications in Southern Europe (SE), they should be curious, business-focused, enjoy taking on new projects, collaborating with others and delivering brilliant results.

This role suits a strong storyteller, who can create engaging, compelling stories that work across different channels. Someone who has a passion for media, knows how to deliver a successful campaign across multiple channels internally and externally. A self-starter, with creative flair and strong attention to detail, used to collaborating with colleagues across the business, particularly in Marketing and Government Engagement teams.

What we expect of you, day to day.

  • Understands the importance of driving colleague engagement and pride, delivering high impact, informative colleague engagement programmes,

  • Knows how to deliver a story effectively – developing and delivering external communications programmes aligned to Visa’s business objectives.

  • Passion for media - strong relationships with relevant business, tech and lifestyle media, keen to share a story and secure an interview opportunity.

  • Good partnership skills – collaborating with colleagues in the London-based hub Europe Corporate Communications team, feeding into campaigns as they develop, influencing European plans.

  • Loves a compelling story - creates engaging written and visual content including press releases, statements, blogs, briefing documents, video, infographics and social media content.

  • Supports the Director, Corporate Communications, SE in managing and maintaining a high performing agency partner, collaborating on campaigns & strategies, sharing best practice.

  • Responds to incoming media enquiries, escalating issues as required and drafting press releases and statements.

  • As a member of the European Corporate Communications team, helps Visa respond to any major crisis by undertaking an appropriate communications role and responsibility, ensuring ability to respond out of hours in the most severe scenarios.

  • Manages project budgets, ensuring alignment with procurement and contract processes.

  • Ensures that communications activity is measurable including reporting to demonstrate the effectiveness of campaigns using media & digital analysis and evaluation.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Passion for creating engaging corporate communications campaigns that meet business objectives
• Proven experience of developing and implementing communications programmes, reputation
management and interacting with media
• Experience of working in a matrixed, multi-national corporate environment
• Strong written and verbal communications skills in English
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and proven ability to advise and influence internal
stakeholders
• Ability and flexibility to manage multiple projects under pressure
• Effective management of agencies
• Experience of media evaluation and analysis
• Experience of using digital channels and social media strategies for PR purposes
• Strong planning and project management skills
• Budget management
• Experience of managing crises & issues
• Educated to degree level or equivalent PR qualification
