How You Will Contribute:
Reporting to Senior Director, Enterprise Architecture & Risk Assurance, as the Senior Project Manager – Compliance Readiness Project Manager, you will be responsible to lead compliance readiness initiatives across the organization. This fully remote position is critical in driving organizational alignment with key compliance frameworks and addressing any compliance gaps.
- Lead cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and close gaps in compliance with frameworks such as NIST, ISO Certifications, and Secure Controls Framework (SCF).
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans to drive compliance readiness initiatives, ensuring timely execution and measurable results.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess current policies, systems, and processes, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee the development and implementation of policies and standards that align with compliance requirements.
- Facilitate audits and certification processes by ensuring audit readiness across the organization.
- Partner with IT and security teams to evaluate systems and processes for alignment with compliance frameworks and audit requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for compliance readiness projects, coordinating efforts across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Monitor compliance metrics, track progress, and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
- Stay informed about changes in compliance regulations and frameworks, ensuring proactive organizational adaptation.

The Must Haves:
- 10+ years of project management experience, preferably in a technical or compliance-driven organization.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects, with experience addressing compliance readiness and driving organizational change.
- Strong understanding of compliance frameworks such as NIST, ISO certifications, and SCF.
- Experience working with IT systems to evaluate and implement compliance requirements.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to influence without direct authority and collaborate with diverse teams across the organization.
- A hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude to ensure project success.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
Good To Have :
- Master’s degree in Information Systems Management, Risk Management, or Business Administration (MBA).
Certifications are not mandatory but are considered a plus:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
- ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor
- Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
- NIST Cybersecurity Framework (NCSF) Certification
Compensation and Benefits
The annual pay range for this position is 87,000 - 139,000 CAD
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.
Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission. In addition to competitive compensation, Ciena offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, participation in 401(K) (USA) & DCPP (Canada) with company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company-paid holidays, paid sick leave, and vacation time.
