The jobholder partners with the Sales and Legal leads to ensure that the Company's commercial position is protected throughout all stages of the sales process including fees and margin, minimum fees, termination for convenience, term length, service level agreements and liabilities. The Company's position is to be stated and maintained from initial proposals (e.g. RFI) through to the final proposals.

 The jobholder will ensure that our Modernisation plans translate to effective Commercial strategies, working in collaboration with Pre-Sales/Sales Support and Sales Enablement both in International and in the Global Modernisation/commercialisation teams.

These responsibilities span all TSYS Issuer Processing platforms and services in the UK, IRE, Europe and AMEA (incl. TMS EMEA) and may additionally provide support as needed to PaaS and PRIME licensing on a consultative basis

The jobholder will obtain and ensure input and buy-in from key stakeholders from across TSYS area such as, but not limited to; Sales, Relationship Management, Issuer Product Group, Global Procurement, Partner Management, Pricing, Info security, Operational Risk and Compliance, Audit and Enterprise Business Compliance.

The jobholder will be responsible for contributing to and being responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the framework, best practice, procedures and the operating model for the team.

The jobholder will ensure alignment with any Issuer Segment strategy, working to ensure that there is synergy and alignment, where appropriate across International with support from their Leadership.

The jobholder will ensure alignment with any relevant Corporate functions and strategies, working to ensure that there is appropriate integration, synergy, alignment and engagement where appropriate in the International business.

Key Activities

  • New Client Contracting - has Commercial ownership, in conjunction with the business and legal leads, organises and manages the overall contracting process from execution of LOI until signing and execution of the agreement, ensuring liaison with all relevant areas of the business and key stakeholders.

  • Contract Renewals/Extensions - the jobholder will work with the relationship management and sales teams as applicable to provide commercial and contract assessment and support through renewal.

  • Modernisation - provide guidance and SME knowledge to the modernisation program across the different workstreams: Overarching Contract Terms, Service Specific Terms, Commercialisation & Service Level Architecture.

  • Is part of the broader Sales Management Team across any/all new Sales and existing customer cross/upsell activity targets be those New Name, Renewals or New Product Sales, with shared revenue targets

 

Skills - Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree + (or equivalent)
  • Proven knowledge of TSYS products & services, their interoperability and service delivery in relation to Service Levels and commercial concepts
  • Proven Commercial acumen in Financial Services ; preferably Payments – including detailed understanding of commercial deal points, pricing and costings, 8 years +
  • Proven knowledge of the regulatory landscape
  • Ability to communicate effectively with external parties at senior and day-to-day levels.
  • Proven negotiation skills – with clients & strategic partners.
  • Proven SME analytic skills with a commercial focus.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at any one time, managing to tight timescales whilst delivering the required results.
  • Proven experience in the payments industry of 10 years +
  • Ability to work autonomously, under strategic business direction
  • Excellent Communication & Presentation Skills – Proven in a commercial environment
  • Interpersonal/Communication Skills/Building Relationships/Stakeholder Management
  • Ability to communicate effectively with external parties at Executive, Senior and All levels.
  • Proven ability to matrix-manage key TSYS stakeholders effectively both through formal and informal structures ensuring the best outcomes
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team effectively, both linear and matrixed teams
  • Ability to manage multiple activities at any one time, managing to tight timescales whilst delivering the required results.

Skills - Desired

  • Bilingual – Fully proficient & excellent business English plus native language
