We’re looking for a Senior Cloud (Platform) Engineer with Azure to join our team!
You'll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining the core infrastructure and services of our internal developer platform, a cutting- edge system designed to streamline and accelerate how our developers build and deploy applications. You'll focus on ensuring the platform's high availability, scalability, security and performance, with deep expertise in Azure infrastructure and networking, while collaborating closely with software-focused engineers to seamlessly integrate infrastructure and applications.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Design, implement, and maintain the infrastructure for an internal developer platform with a broad focus on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Networking, Azure Storage and other Azure Services;
- Collaborate closely with software-focused platform engineers to ensure seamless integration of applications with the platform's infrastructure, optimizing for performance, scalability, and reliability;
- Develop and maintain Terraform modules for automating infrastructure provisioning and management, specifically tailored for Azure and Kubernetes deployments;
- Implement and manage monitoring and logging solutions for the platform's infrastructure and applications, leveraging Kubernetes-native tools and integrating with Azure Monitor;
- Collaborate with the security team to ensure the infrastructure and applications running on Kubernetes adhere to security policies and standards, leveraging Azure and Kubernetes security features and best practices;
- Work closely with software-focused platform engineers to provide guidance and support on best practices for application deployment and management on Kubernetes, ensuring efficient resource utilisation and adherence to platform standards;
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application incidents related to Kubernetes, utilising Azure diagnostic tools and Kubernetes-specific debugging techniques;
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements and best practices in the Kubernetes ecosystem;
- Stay informed about relevant Azure services and features that integrate with and enhance the platform's capabilities;
- Conducting technical interviews for positions within your area of expertise;
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Strong understanding of both infrastructure and software engineering principles, with a focus on cloud-native technologies and Kubernetes;
- Extensive experience with Kubernetes, including cluster administration, application deployment, networking, and security;
- Extensive experience with the Azure cloud platform, including AKS, networking, storage and other Azure services relevant to Kubernetes deployments;
- Experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code principles, specifically for Azure and Kubernetes deployments;
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps principles, ideally with experience in GitHub Actions or similar tools, and their integration with Azure Resource Manager and Kubernetes;
- Experience with open-source tools and technologies commonly used in Kubernetes environments, such as FluxCD, Kong and Linkerd and their integration with Azure;
- Strong understanding of security best practices and zero-trust principles, with knowledge of Azure and Kubernetes security features and best practices;
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills;
- Fluency in English.
