Job Description:

   

As a Senior Cloud Developer, you will play a pivotal role in building and optimizing cloud infrastructure and services to meet the needs of mission-critical applications. You will leverage your expertise to create innovative, scalable, and secure cloud-based solutions to deliver end-to-end technical solutions to solve customer problems. Your role will involve the full lifecycle of cloud service development, from initial design and prototyping to deployment, operations, and ongoing improvement, ensuring high availability, performance, and security standards are met.

You will apply deep subject matter knowledge to solve complex business and technical issues. You will work on problems of diverse scope, bringing technical thinking to break down complex data and to engineer new ideas and methods for solving, prototyping, designing, and implementing cloud-based solutions. You are expected to make independent decisions using sound judgment, consulting with peers and leadership when appropriate, while driving team collaboration and validating solutions.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering managers, development engineers, and development partners, to deliver robust cloud solutions that provide business value and align with the company’s technology strategy. You will work to ensure effective and efficient delivery, deployment, operation, monitoring, and support of Cloud engagements.

Your strong technical skills and independent problem-solving abilities will enable you to tackle complex issues, while your leadership and collaborative approach will guide the team in decision-making processes and ensure effective execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, design, and implement internal solutions providing insights, data analysis, and clear actionable information to executives and engineering teams regarding the efficient and effective operations of hybrid cloud services, including security, incident management, configuration management, and SLA conformance.

  • Develop innovative approaches to solve complex technical problems, utilizing deep technical expertise in cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP).

  • Lead technical efforts when needed, providing direction, mentoring, and expertise to ensure successful delivery.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering managers, DevOps engineers, developers, product managers) to ensure efficient deployment, operation, and support of cloud engagements and information about those services and engagements.

  • Optimize the performance, security, operations, and cost-effectiveness of hybrid cloud solutions through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure cloud architecture and solutions comply with security standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.

  • Employ and implement DevOps best practices and CI/CD pipelines for cloud environments.

  • Act as a subject matter expert and a mentor to less experienced team members, fostering knowledge-sharing and growth across the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in cloud-based development and architecture using platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, or open source software development.

  • Solid understanding of cloud security, networking, and infrastructure services.

  • Proficient in software development and in programming languages such as Python, Go, or Java, with the ability to write clean, scalable code.

  • Solid understanding of microservices architectures and container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker), as well as REST APIs and data pipelines

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to streamline software delivery, using Github Actions, GitOps.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced, dynamic environments.

  • Leadership qualities and potential, including the ability to guide team decision-making, work independently, and mentor peers.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cloud certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect).

  • Experience with multi-cloud environments and hybrid cloud deployments.

  • Knowledge of database management systems, both SQL and NoSQL, in cloud environments.

  • Experience with effective Cloud Operations, including monitoring and effective information dashboarding.  Exposure to Power BI, Grafana, or other information dashboard creation tools.

  • Experience working with teams across multiple geographies.

The expected salary/wage range for a U.S.-based hire filling this position is provided below. USD Annual Salary: $133,500.00 - $307,000.00
