Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and automate solutions that improve efficiency, scalability and reliability of our cloud infrastructure.
  • Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud-based infrastructure solutions using platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Lead all cloud initiatives the company is looking to implement or go to.
  • Mentor engineers on automating building of application code using Build Pipeline in Azure DevOps
  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of automated solutions for cloud infrastructure using platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for efficient software deployment and release management in collaboration with development and operations teams.
  • Design and implement infrastructure as code (IaC) frameworks (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates) for provisioning and managing cloud resources.
  • Collaborate with development teams to automate application deployments, testing, monitoring, and scaling.
  • Continuously improve and optimize cloud infrastructure automation by identifying and implementing tools and techniques.
  • Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of automation frameworks and processes for cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement and manage configuration management tools for software and infrastructure deployments.
  • Develop and implement monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify and address potential issues in the cloud environment.
  • Optimize cloud resources and costs by monitoring usage, implementing auto-scaling, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies, automation tools, and industry best practices.

Experience & Education

  • Masters/Bachelor’s degree in Information & Computer Science, Statistics or a quantitative discipline in science. 
  • 7+ years of cloud and automation experience in Cloud and automation tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • 4+ of experience working with Kubernetes and Docker.
  • 5+ years’ experience working in automation and DevOps
  • 5+ years’ experience with Scripting languages for Azure (ARM, CLI, Powershell, Terraform, etc)
  • 5+ years of architecture design, implementation, and support of highly distributed setups (ensure high availability and reliability)
  • 3+ years of experience in migrating on-premises workloads to the public cloud

Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of cloud, automation, and infrastructure
  • Proven experience as a Cloud Automation Engineer or similar role, with a focus on infrastructure automation.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab etc) for automated software deployments.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and data privacy in cloud environments.
  • Experience with configuration management tools for infrastructure management and automation.
  • Proficiency in building and managing infrastructure monitoring and alerting solutions (e.g. Datadog).
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch, Azure Monitor etc.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and practices, including Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Knowledge of serverless computing using AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, or Google Cloud Functions.
  • Ability to connect on-premises technology to cloud offerings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively and follow through
  • Have excellent problem-solving skills utilizing both internal and external resources to get the job done. Work through issues and challenges
  • Ability to do technical design and documentation.
  • Self-starter and motivator and ability to work in team and solo
