Everest Insurance, a member of Everest Global, has an opportunity available for an experienced claims professional to join our Segmentation team in the Warren, NJ office.  This individual will evaluate Casualty claims and litigation for potential escalation to our Fast Track, Mainstream or Complex claim teams.  

Essential Job Functions and Scope (includes but is not limited to): 

  • Investigation, analysis and evaluation of claim facts, liability, damages, and potential case exposure.

  • Review existing and incoming losses and provide recommendations on case escalations to the appropriate claim teams.

  • Preparation of case summary reports for case escalations.

  • Support trial & mediation calendar.

  • Identify and elevate potential coverage issues.

  • Execution of team protocols and strategies.

  • Work with underwriters supporting risk assessments, data analysis and reporting on claim trends.

  • Communication with insureds, brokers, reinsurers, actuaries, and business unit contacts.

  • Attending client meetings (as needed) to support retention and development of client relationships.

Qualifications:

  • 20+ years of Casualty claims and litigation experience.

  • Seasoned large loss case handler familiar with formidable plaintiff counsel, hellhole jurisdictions and Social Inflation challenges.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Management experience preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong negotiation and investigation skills.

  • Ability to think strategically.

  • In depth knowledge of the litigation, mediation, arbitration, and trial process.

  • Currently holds or readily can obtain all required adjuster licenses.

  • Significant knowledge of the insurance industry, claims and the insurance legal and regulatory environment.

  • Ability to identify and use relevant data and metrics to best evaluate claims.

  • Collaborative mind-set and willingness to work with people outside immediate reporting hierarchy to improve processes and generate optimal departmental efficiency.

  • Ability and willingness to present to senior management and in other group settings.
