Job Description

The Cinematic Designer plays a key role in creating and integrating cinematics into the game while ensuring seamless transitions with gameplay. They build the structure of cinematics and maintain their technical coherence throughout production. Beyond creative and technical skills, this role requires strong communication abilities to effectively coordinate teams, resolve complex situations, and ensure that every element fits perfectly within the game.

Responsibilities:

Develop communication with various departments to ensure smooth integration of cinematics into the game.

  • Participate in setting up, integrating, and maintaining cinematics within the game and for production teams.
    • Document the pipeline and tools to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
    • Prepare motion capture production (locating in-game spaces, exporting scenes in 3D).
    • Familiarize with scripting.
    • Anticipate and resolve technical constraints related to cinematics.
  • Manage technical and production-related issues between cinematic and game production teams.
    • Contribute to problem-solving and technological research with the teams.
    • Become a technical reference on the game engine.
    • Direct team members to the right contacts when needed.
    • Track and update requests regularly.
    • Actively participate in debugging before delivering the final version.
  • Propose solutions to align with the creative vision.
    • Provide creative input on cinematic direction.

Qualifications

You have:

  • A strong understanding of game engines constraints and different in-game systems.
  • good cinematic skills that would be a strong asset for the role.
  • A good written and spoken English proficiency.
  • a good proficiency in version control software (Perforce, Git, etc.).
  • A background in quest design or level design is a plus. The role is also open to candidates with programming/visual scripting experience.
  • A good knowledge of 3D animation and video file production is a plus.
  • A strong skills in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere.
  • An effective use of data management tools.
  • A Good ability to work in a team, strong organizational skills, adaptability, and open-mindedness.
