About this role
Dow has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Senior Category Leader located in Horgen, Switzerland. The successful candidate will lead the global Marine organization in the development and implementation of organizational and commercial strategies within Bulk Marine, Terminals and International Trade (Marine Packed Cargo, ISOcontainers, Freight Forwarding, Airfreight, LCL, customs, etc). The candidate provides leadership to a procurement team across multiple geographies.
In this role, you will lead and direct multiple teams and apply in-depth knowledge of procurement and logistics leadership. You will require broad knowledge of the logistics markets and advanced commercial awareness to drive financial performance. You, as Senior Category leader in the Logistics and Direct Leadership Team, are an influential force setting and driving a wider procurement strategy.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading the Marine Procurement organization in the development and implementation of organizational and commercial strategies across the globe.
- Requires an understanding of key business drivers and an ability to resolve complex business and organizational issues, to enable maximum value delivery.
- Leads a large team of professionals, and develops & executes a long term strategy.
- Ensures the efficient and effective execution of the Global Procurement Work Process by Purchasing employees globally to meet business / functional partner and regulatory requirements.
- Works with stakeholder in highly complex markets where Purchasing strategy impacts the client's strategy to influence and differentiate their competitive advantage
- Requires strong interpersonal skills to elevate strategic supplier relationship management, evolving relationships to secure sustainable and reliable product / service capacity at a competitive cost to serve
Qualifications
- 15 years of procurement or logistics experience
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required
- Previous people leadership experience is strongly preferred

- Experience leading a team of professionals across geographies
- Experience and ability working with, presenting to and influencing senior management.
- Exceptional communication, storytelling, and influential leadership capabilities
- Experience leading transformational change
- Demonstrated capability to think strategically while also possessing the expertise to delve into detailed subject matter
