In this perspective, we aim to become a strong trusted business finance partner with the Sustainability team. We believe that a transformational change is only possible if sustainability factors are incorporated into strategic and financial planning and into the allocation of capital that drives investments more holistically. In addition, sustainability related performance measurements and quantitative figures / data are essential to be governed in developing the ESG reporting (e.g. Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), review, and monitor along the journey with the ambition that Chanel aims to drive positive impact to the society and local communities. 

Business finance will ensure that sustainability related data, topics / matters are addressed in an integrated manner within the Company's strategic planning and decisions, aligned with the budgeting and forecasting processes, and that sustainability strategies are costed, financial resources are allocated, and performance is monitored.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Business Finance Manager for ESG Performance and Reporting, the incumbent is expected to work cohesively and support the overall ESG data governance, reporting, performance metrices establishment, implementation, with continuous improvement mindset and innovation through process standardization and adaption to the dynamics of businesses. She / He is able to raise topics to exchange and discuss with regional Finance and Sustainability teams so that ESG related data, performance, reporting measurements are embedded in the market.

ESG performance, data governance and Reporting

Organize the overall business value chain of operational related ESG information for Total Value Tool (TVT) Reporting and Analysis in order to fulfill the annual sustainability reporting requirement; and drive business insights on carbon emission tracking, waste management, and other relevant ESG performance indicators

Lead market data management with the approach to collect and analyze information from various of sources (e.g. TVT, travel data, Coupa, utility bills, etc…) to be able to contribute and manage the Corporate CSRD reporting.

Support the design and implementation of a progressive roadmap to implement a full target sustainability reporting including strengthened processes and controls including ESG performance reviews, reliable source of information for audit readiness.

Contribute to establishing a robust governance to mobilize the expertise on ESG data best practices, including its definition and diffusion across divisions

Contribute to the ESG data quality framework and governance, with the aim to run data quality controls

Develop relevant implementation plans in line with the required and selected ESG reporting standards and in close cooperation with key stakeholders to deliver.

Assist and prepare work with the Corporate Sustainability team on adapting methodologies and data gathering to move towards more activity-based reporting on carbon emissions, ensuring these are appropriate and realistic for the local teams and will ensure actions and progress can be reflected in the data (e.g. Events, Capital Goods)

Proactively work and involve with Corporate functions and Sustainability committee on Sustainability related risk assessments with its strategic roadmap.

2.Sustainability external reporting obligations

Engage with Global/Regional teams to align on long-term strategy and consolidate net zero carbon spend and emissions and other ESG areas to support future CSRD and TCFD reporting or similar Industry requirements in the future. Provide insights on the prospective reporting requirements of TW with regular exchanges to the Regional teams. Work together with Global / Regional resources dedicated to the CSRD project, to understand needs, support implementation and market specifics,. Increase know-how of ESG, Responsible finance and demonstrate the business partnerships within Finance organization and cross-functional teams

3.Sustainability in Business decisions

Lead the development of an effective Finance ESG Framework on governance, KPI, and metrics in collaboration with Global/Regional Finance and sustainability teams for all investment related discussion and decisions. Ensure cross-functional involvement, R&R, change management, training, and ownership of the objectives are agreed and achieved. Work with Internal Control and Risk Management Team in identifying and understanding ESG Risks for CHANEL from a Finance Risk and Governance perspective and work with Sustainability lead to drive awareness, discussion, and action to contain or mitigate risks. Coordinate implementation of new policies related to ESG considerations & and work collaboratively across the Regional Business Finance team & and Global Corporate team to develop guidelines for OPEX and CAPEX budgeting with KPI that include short and long-sustainability factors.

4.Manage the overall controlling and planning of the Sustainability Function

Strive to implement appropriate methodology/processes/tools to effectively drive the sustainability financial performance. Support the investment activities on Sustainability and ensuring the right governance is in place. Manage the overall sustainability function cost controlling and budgeting, including supplementing and implementing enhancements to our financial projection models. Communicate perspectives about the function of markets’ financial performance to the stakeholders, incorporating insights into the regional and group’s outlook. Manage the overall financial budgeting and monitoring sustainability activities to provide Smart Analytics that can be turned into actionable insights and enable management to make the best decisions. Involve in each of the financial forecast and budget cycle to be able to actively support the business finance team and CFO in delivering each of the financial plan and assumptions. Act as the Finance to-go person for any ESG related costs, renewable energies implementation, business case development, investment plans,
