We've recently launched into the Beef Market! This is an opportunity to build a new market from the bottom up. The Beef industry has not had a disruptive and influential product in years and this is your chance to make a huge impact. We're looking for a Senior Business Development Executive to build on the traction the team has created.


We are searching for a driven and skilful Senior Business Development Executive to work alongside and grow Halter’s Beef customers. This is a unique, high-stakes role working with some of New Zealand's best livestock farmers and having a real-world impact. It is an opportunity to disrupt an industry positively and pioneer groundbreaking change for the industry the world needs. You will be leading the Beef expansion in Hawkes Bay / East Coast and Wairarapa for one of the world’s fastest-growing companies by helping equip farms with Halter technology that will transform the way they farm to become more productive and sustainable. You will be backed by a team of exceptional people on the ground and at Halter’s Auckland HQ, to ensure this is the best job you’ll ever have.


This role would ideally be located anywhere in the Hawkes Bay region. Frequent travel is required as part of the position.

  • A deep passion for helping farmers succeed. Experience in beef farm systems or within the agricultural sector is a must-have.
  • A hunter. Someone who is driven to exceed goals in a sales role.
  • A track record of growing new business through a consultative sales approach, owning the end-to-end sales cycle from lead generation to close and navigating complex sales cycles would be a bonus. 
  • Strong ability to work cross-functionally.
  • A hunger for success and personal growth to be able to evolve quickly alongside a world-class sales team.
  • A phenomenal attitude and a team player with the ability to consistently overcome challenges.
  • The ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced working environment with a high degree of autonomy.

What your day could look like

  • Sales meetings: Understanding the business drivers, needs and problems. Work with them to clearly communicate functionality, and benefits and highlight value relative to each farm, while working through complex sales cycles.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work intimately with product, customer success and support teams to ensure exceptional results for beef accounts.
  • Prospecting: Building and growing a pipeline of Beef farms fit for Halter, while continuously reducing sales cycle times. Managing newly sourced and inbound leads through the initial stages of the pipeline including screening and qualifying.
  • Networking: Building and leveraging industry relationships to establish and maintain Halter's brand.
  • Forecasting: Working with senior leaders to enable monthly and quarterly forecasting of revenue.
  • Growth initiatives: Working with senior leaders to optimise and evolve the sales process to become faster, more efficient, and more predictable as the company scales.
  • Sales strategy: Working with senior leaders to further establish and grow our Beef sales strategy.
