The Opportunity
Manatt has an exciting opportunity available for a motivated and team-oriented Senior Business Development Coordinator based in Los Angeles. Reporting to the Business Development Manager – Financial Services and Employment and working closely with the Director of Business Development, firm leadership and our wider Strategy and Business Development teams, this role will be key to advancing strategic objectives, helping develop and build client relationships, expanding business penetration, and supporting revenue and financial growth.
The successful candidate will have superior project management, analytical, writing and research skills, be able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, and work collaboratively in a matrixed environment with a high-performing marketing and business development team and business-savvy internal stakeholders. The right person for this position will have a client-centric mindset, excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational skills, is self-motivated and has a positive attitude. This individual must be comfortable working at a fast pace while not compromising attention to detail and overall work product.
Key responsibilities:

Fulfill requests for business development materials, including bios, practice descriptions, brochures, pitch books, and presentations on capabilities and respond to inquiries as they relate to business development.

Support Business Development Manager by having direct BD and marketing responsibility over go to market initiatives for selected business units.

Manage projects through from conception to launch and ROI, developing project plans and hosting progress meetings to ensure implementation success.

Prepare tailored client proposals and RFPs: including writing and editing copy, proofreading, production, distribution, and attorney follow-up. Obtain and document client consent to use names, logos and matter descriptions.

Gather, write and keep current representative experience descriptions and capability statements to support proposals, directory and ranking organizations.

Monitor and conduct analysis of competitors and their service offerings and prepare background dossiers on clients and targets.

Write and prepare compelling legal directory and ranking submissions; identifying opportunities to position and raise the profile of the practices and partners.

In coordination with the marketing team and professionals, lead the development of content for market-facing podcasts, webinars and events.

Ensure business development and marketing expenses comply with firm expense policies and procedures.
Specific Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications with 5 years of experience in a professional services environment, preferably in a law firm.

Excellent communication skills, including strong writing, editorial and proofreading skills and strong analytical skills. Exceptional attention to detail is required.

Excellent organizational and project management skills with the consistent ability to meet deadlines.

Exceptional client service skills, strong influencing and negotiating skills, and an ability to persuade others to deliver.

Technologically savvy with demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Proven ability to self-manage and multitask in a “lightning speed” environment with shifting priorities.
The base annual pay range for this role is between $72,000-$80,000. The base pay to be offered will vary and depend on skills and qualifications, experience, location and will also take into account internal equity. A full range of medical, financial and/or other benefits dependent on the position will also be offered.
