Job Description:

The Sales Planning & Operations Leader is responsible for leading the Allison Transmission, Inc. (ATI) Defense Programs’ cross functional Sales and Operations Planning (SOP) Process, functioning as the leader of this activity and liaison between the Defense Sales & Operations. You will be responsible coordinating, compiling and analysing Allison’s monthly forecast of Defense’s Customer’s desires & Operations’ capabilities. This role is also accountable for the overall systems integration of the Defense SOP data with the overall Allison Operations plans and reporting including weekly risk reports. Additional responsibilities will include Defense Programs’ monthly expense forecast, and various sales support activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Treat teammates with respect and courtesy while working in a challenging, demanding, cross-functional and matrixed organization.
  • Lead and coordinate activities to have a successful monthly SOP process involving defense account managers providing the necessary information through Growth Opportunities
  • Lead the four key data points in the SOP process(New program alignment, Defense demand planning, pre-SOP with Defense plant 14 and final SOP with Allison Operations)
  • Attend and support Sales and Operations meetings to better understand the customer’s desires and Operations’ capabilities resulting in better facilitation of the SOP process.
  •  Work weekly with Plant 14 Operations leadership to manage current metrics and jointly develop Customer risk reports
  • Work jointly with Master Production Scheduler ahead of monthly pre-SOP and final SOP meetings.to ensure matches between current demand and capacity.
  • Coordinate monthly forecast material with Finance’s Pricing and Revenue groups to assure no surprises with month-end financials.
  • Lead monthly Business Performance Report (BPR) development process for presentation by Defense VP in monthly BPRs
  • Develop monthly forecast causal reports for monthly End Market reports.
  • Lead and coordinate activities to have a successful monthly departmental expense forecast process.
  • Lead other cross-functional efforts as required.
  • Jointly work with Business Planning Director to compile, analyse monthly Defense End Market reviews and review with Defense Executive leadership.  This monthly report is then reviewed with CEO.
  • Jointly work with Business Planning Director to build on the SOP and End Market reviews to complete the Allison Market Demand Forecast and all internal and cross functional reviews.
  • Utilize market intelligence to identify global defense ground vehicle opportunities early in the development phase utililizing third party data bases to use in our current End Market Product reviews.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics or equivalent field/experience
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of desktop applications and use of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
  • Ability and desire to collaborate and work with partners across the organization at all levels
  • Ability to compile, discern, analyse and report data
  • Ability to present to Executive Leadership on results

Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience working as a Cross-Functional Team Leader
  • Business analyst experience in a Defense related industry
  • Experience in forecasting and analyzing
  • Ability to analyze profitability/ROI
  • Functional expertise in data modeling software or programs
  • Data mining, cleaning and transformation
  • Data visualization and reporting techniques
  • Knowledge of financial forecasting and business case analysis
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
  • Proven skill at generating clear, concise formal presentations for leadership
  • Strong team leadership skills, high level of interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and driven by following the program process of execution
  • Proven history of setting and meeting goals for all deliverables, ability to multitask
  • Internally-motivated, curious and ambitious with an ability to plan, organize, and establish priorities to handle multiple projects and achieve results
