About The Team

The Senior Business Analyst role sits within Group Transformation, alongside Project Management and the Results Delivery Office.

Together we take ownership of PXC’s Business Change capability, leading transformation at TalkTalk and enabling delivery against our bold five-year plan.

Group Transformation reports into the Director of Strategic Delivery.

About The Role

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will work as part of Group Transformation, collaborating multi-disciplinary teams to contribute to the successful delivery of PXC’s One Plan strategic priorities.

You will be a self-starter, delivering high quality analysis in complex cross functional/multi-platform situations with the minimum of supervision.

In addition, you may also supervise and direct the analysis activities of other analysts on the same, or related, change initiatives.

The Senior BA will:

  • Be responsible for shaping change initiatives, defining objectives, scope and detailed requirements on large complex changes.

  • Drive the analysis plan and approach for complex projects and programmes

  • Direct the analysis activities of other business analysts on the same project/programme to ensure alignment to the business objective.

  • Be responsible for effectively managing stakeholder relationships up to director level.

  • Be customer focussed, and able to clearly articulate the needs of the business

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

Delivery

  • Collaborate with business, technology, and delivery teams to shape and assess feasibility of change initiatives.

  • Adopt a customer centric, outcome-based approach to problem and opportunity definitions.

  • Shape complex strategic initiatives to assist with detailed problem understanding and potential opportunities.

  • Select, adopt and adapt appropriate business analysis methods, tools and techniques depending on type of change initiative (i.e. waterfall or agile)

  • Work in partnership with business teams to understand and map current state end-to-end customer journeys and business processes.

  • Collaborate with business, technology, and delivery teams to analyse and define business change requirements, including non-functional requirements.

  • Take responsibility for investigative work to determine business requirements and specify effective business processes through improvements

  • Drive analysis to identify the systems and process impacts arising from agreed business requirements and translate requirements into systems functional/behavioural models (e.g Use Cases, Screen Navigations etc)

  • Represent the business’ interests during the delivery processes to identify and agree solution options to meet business objectives/requirements

  • Ensure that requirements are delivered against, and/or manage any changes to requirements arising during the delivery lifecycle.

  • Identify & manage analysis Risks, Issues, Assumptions, Dependencies, Constraints.

  • Work with business readiness teams to ensure impending changes are well understood for a successful implementation.

  • Direct and support the analysis activities of other business analysts on the same project/programme to ensure alignment to the business objective.

Stakeholder management

  • Build a robust base of business, technology, and delivery stakeholder relationships

  • Develop an understanding of the needs of stakeholders from SME and up to Head of/Director level

  • Engage stakeholders through effective communications.

  • Influence stakeholders to gain buy in to analysis approach & solutions.

  • Negotiates with stakeholders to manage competing priorities and conflicts.

  • Identifies the communications and relationship needs of stakeholder groups.

Commercial and strategic awareness

  • Build an understanding of the business environment into which the project analysis will deliver

  • Demonstrate an understanding of key business metrics and KPIs relevant to the project

  • Focus on the customer to ensure analysis & solutions remain true to the objective of delivering great products and services

Leadership

  • Demonstrate leadership skills by taking accountability for self in all actions and leading by example

  • Accountable for analysis delivery of other BAs on the same project assignment or programme

  • Accountable for managing contingent analysis resource, if required.

  • Drive quality practice standards by:

    • Coaching & mentoring business analysts

    • Leading analysis standards and quality improvement initiatives

    • Sharing knowledge within the team

  • Ensure adherence to all business compliance and security standards

  • Demonstrate a commitment to PXC values and seek opportunities for personal development

  • Demonstrate a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and contribute to an energetic and motivated team environment

  • Seek opportunities to learn to assist in building capability of the analysis team by advocating business analysis skills, methodologies, tools and techniques. Also, by sharing knowledge acquired during delivery.

What will make you successful in the role?

Essential:

  • Significant Business Analysis delivery in waterfall and agile

  • Ability to communicate effectively & influence at director level

  • Bring structure to the ambiguous/unknown

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills & techniques

  • Ability to grasp abstract/new concepts quickly

Desirable:

  • Deep / Broad cross functional understanding of telco products & processes

  • Bachelor Degree (BA, BSc, BEng)
