Role Overview: We are looking for a hands-on Senior Brand Manager to lead and elevate the company's brand presence in the MENA region. This role will play a pivotal role in solidifying Manara as the go-to leader in tech upskilling while maintaining the integrity of our brand’s mission, values, and vision. You’ll work closely with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to create a powerful brand strategy that positions Manara as a thought leader in the tech upskilling space through thought-provoking content, media campaign, speaking engagements, and strategic partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Brand Strategy Development & Execution:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive brand strategy to ensure Manara is recognized as the leading tech upskilling platform in the MENA region.
- Identify and align brand messaging across all marketing channels to maintain consistency, relevance, and impact.
- Drive brand positioning and key messaging to reinforce Manara’s unique value proposition in the tech upskilling space
2. Market Research & Insights:
- Lead market research and competitive analysis to understand the evolving landscape of tech upskilling, competitors, and consumer behavior.
- Translate insights into actionable strategies that resonate with target audiences, including software engineers, training partners, and employers.
3. Brand Awareness & Recognition with B2B, B2G, and B2C audiences::
- Oversee and execute brand-building initiatives to drive awareness in key markets, including managing our social media calendar & content creation, newsletters, media outreach, applying for speaking slots for our founders at events or for awards (e.g,. Forbes 30 under 30), and collaborating with our growth team on digital marketing campaigns
- Manage our founders’ LinkedIns to ensure they are posting regularly, since they are one of the best marketing channels we have. Similarly, figure out how to get our team to post more often.
- Manage a part-time team member on social media community management, and a freelancer to produce excellent translations of content
4. Sales Enablement
- Generate inbound leads for the B2B team
- Create & improve our sales materials (e.g., sales deck)
5. Internal Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Partner with internal departments such as Product, Sales, and Customer Success to align brand strategies with business goals and deliver impactful brand experiences.
- Build strong relationships with external partners, media outlets, and influencers to amplify brand reach and credibility in the tech industry.
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership to ensure alignment of brand strategy with company vision and goals.
6. Brand Monitoring & Performance:
- Establish metrics to monitor brand health, equity, and campaign performance, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Analyze brand performance against key KPIs, adapting strategies as needed to drive desired results.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in brand management, content marketing, or communications, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
- Experience within the tech, education, or upskilling sectors is highly preferred.
- Proven track record of building and managing strong brands, particularly in emerging markets or global contexts.
- Proven track record in working with social impact brands in Egypt and/or MENA
- Experience with experimenting rapidly & measuring results to find what works
- Experience in highly adaptable environments with quick change, ideally a pre-product market fit startup, is highly desirable
- Remote Work Savvy: Experience working with distributed teams across multiple time zones, leveraging async communication tools effectively.
Location
We are a hybrid remote company with colleagues based internationally in the US, Europe, and MENA, and a team based in Cairo. This role is remote but based in Cairo.
Our remote global team travels regularly to Cairo and we do 1-2 annual, company-wide meetups for everyone to get together, socialize, and co-work.
