Role overview:
As part of our growing Data & Insights function, we are on a journey to modernize our data platforms, migrate to Snowflake, and deliver scalable, impactful reporting for both internal stakeholders and strategic clients.

As a Senior BI Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing BI solutions—primarily in Power BI—to support strategic decision-making across Planet. You will be responsible for leading dashboard development, improving reporting standards, and mentoring junior analysts. You will also support the transition from legacy data sources to our modern Snowflake-based platform.

What you will do 

BI Development & Reporting

• Design, build, and maintain high-impact dashboards in Power BI across strategic projects (e.g. QBR, CCL, S2R).
• Develop data models, DAX calculations, and report visuals that are scalable, reusable, and performant.
• Support the migration of dashboards from legacy DWH and data cubes to Snowflake.

Data Integration & Platform Support

• Collaborate with data engineering to ensure BI tools are connected to certified, well-structured datasets in Snowflake.
• Contribute to the development of standardised datasets and semantic models to support self-service reporting.
• Support issue resolution and ongoing data quality validation across reports.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with Product Owners, Finance, Commercial and external clients to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Present and demo BI outputs to business users and adapt based on feedback.
• Help define and improve reporting KPIs, definitions, and documentation.

Mentorship & Standards

• Provide technical guidance to junior analysts on Power BI best practices and report optimisation.
• Contribute to internal BI design standards and code reviews.
• Advocate for governance, consistency, and performance in reporting processes.

Who you are

Must-Have:

• Proven experience delivering complex Power BI solutions (minimum 3–5 years).
• Strong proficiency in DAX, data modelling, and visual storytelling.
• Hands-on experience working with modern data warehouses, ideally Snowflake.
• Solid understanding of BI lifecycle: requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment, and documentation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage non-technical stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience using dbt, Fivetran, or similar tools in a modern data stack.
• Previous experience working in payments, retail, or private equity environments.
• Familiarity with agile delivery and product-led reporting development.
• Exposure to governance frameworks (e.g., certified datasets, data dictionaries).
