At Rossum, we are building a highly scalable, AI-powered document processing platform that transforms how businesses handle data. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and building backend systems that support our rapidly growing SaaS platform. You will focus on scalability, performance, and system reliability while driving engineering excellence.
Responsibilities:

Architect, develop, and optimize backend services that power Rossum’s platform.

Ensure the platform’s scalability, security, and performance across multiple environments.

Own end-to-end service lifecycle, including monitoring, CI/CD pipelines, and reliability improvements.

Collaborate with Product Managers, Tech Leads, and other engineers to define and deliver impactful solutions.

Promote best practices in software development, code quality, and infrastructure automation.
Must-have Qualifications:

Extensive experience in designing and building backend systems.

Deep expertise in Python (Django, Django REST Framework) or strong proficiency in another language with the ability to adapt.

Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and Kubernetes.

Experience managing relational databases (PostgreSQL), NoSQL databases (Elasticsearch) and event-driven architectures (RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar).

Product-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering value to customers.

A proactive, hands-on attitude with a bias for action and ownership.
Nice-to-have Qualifications:

Experience in SaaS or highly scalable environments.

Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading technical initiatives.
