About the position:

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to help build innovative features for global brand customers who use Sitecore's Big Data, Personalisation & Analytics platform. You will work with product owners, backend developers to solve complex technical challenges and build exciting new features for the product. The right candidate will be interested in simplifying complex back-end capabilities into solutions with modular, testable code.

What You’ll Do: 

• Build globally distributed microservices that are highly reliable, maintainable, scalable and resilient
• Develop new features, discuss and design software solutions with a motivated and experienced team
• Research new technologies and tools to improve business processes
• Interface with other teams to incorporate their innovations and vice versa 
• Give helpful, constructive feedback through code reviews
• Proactively identify and drive changes as needed for the assigned codebase, product area, and/or systems 

Qualifications

Requirements: 

• 2-4 years experience in building software solutions using Java 
• Experience building highly optimized REST-based APIs and building scalable systems in Java 
• Relational database experience such as Postgres
• Experience working with microservices, Kafka, CI/CD, Jenkins, Git and Docker 
• Experience working in a DevOps culture, and in a cloud-based ecosystem

Nice to Have:

• Experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems 
• Experience with containerization approaches (Docker and Kubernetes), schema modelling and validation tools (Swagger/OpenApi) 
• Experience working with AWS (EC2, Lambda, IAM, S3, SQS, SNS)
• Experience using Node.js (JavaScript or Typescript) and/or Python for creating and maintaining lightweight scripts such as Edge development, Workers, Lambdas, CDK stacks
• Experience with service monitoring and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana)
